So this is a mug club only release/lottery?

 

Seems that way, but doesn't explicitly state that only mug clubbers will be given a chance. The email just says that due to the limited nature of this one they're doing a lottery and you have to reply to the email to enter.

 

It also seems they will be doing a release. Looks like it's really limited since not even all mug club members will get one.

 

Ah, I missed the rampant speculation that accompanies every TG release...

 

Being non mug club, my hopes and dreams are being crushed on this beautiful Thursday.

TGB: Masters of Release Hype.

 

They certainly do some things to keep the hype train rolling, but it's also not on them that the beer community has the restraint of a drunk 3 year old with ADHD. The folks most responsible for the hype train are ones that keep speculation going and going and going.

 

I've pretty much given up on ever getting any of the mega-hyped TG stuff (SR-71, Assassin, KBBS, etc.). Funny, but I drive up to decorah about once every 6 weeks to get beer, but I'm not a mug club member so access to those beers are pretty much a non-starter. I'm sure those beers are very good, but I tired of chasing whalez within about 6 months of getting going. I've been enjoying craft beer for 25 years without whales, I'm going back to enjoying what I can get without all the work.

I can't brag with some of the name droppers who show up to bottle shares, but that's OK, I just shut up, enjoy the brews and let the important people discuss all the beers they have in their cellar that make them important.

 

Don't worry even if get a chance to have them, they aren't as good as last years version anyway...

 

Let me get this straight. You go to bottle shares where people brag about having SR-71, Assassin, KBBS, etc., but they're not sharing at said bottle shares. What's the point?
