Picked up a pack of each earlier. Both are tasting great and a nice change of pace from all the OH double ipas I've been drinking. The pils will be great at the beach too!

Next release, next week. Subscribe to their newsletter! I'll quote below:

"As flattering as it was to be greeted by a pack of fans that were lined up as we started to get set up, we don't want anyone to have to wait in line for our cans or bottles - beer is supposed to be a leisure sport. We imagine that there is probably something better you could be doing with your time - and really what’s the point of forcing you to stress about availability? We'd rather you cruise by the brewery, enjoy a pint or two and then grab your beer-to-go, hassle free. Or, if you're in a rush, the same drill minus the pints.

To that end, we're going to be trying some new things to optimize the experience. For this next run, we're going to be pre-selling 4-packs of Chronic Myopia IPA on our website. After you've ordered, all you need to do is print out the receipt or show it to us on your phone at the brewery, along with an ID.

Please keep in mind that we're figuring this out as we go, so try to be patient as we continue to learn with each release. We welcome your feedback and suggestions at the form on our website."

Cans will be available for pickup at Threes during the following hours only:

    - Wednesday, June 15th: 5-8pm
    - Thursday, June 16th: 5-8pm
    - Friday, June 17th: 3-8pm
    - Saturday, June 18th: 12pm-5pm

There will be a limit of 12 x 4-packs per person. Any attempted orders for greater than that amount will not be accepted. No refunds under any circumstances.

    Pre-order here: http://www.threesbrewing.com/buybeer

I'm still going to be there before they open to wait in line because I like that part of the experience. Anybody with me?

This is an awesome idea and I think we can all get behind breweries using tech to try new things.

If they keep making beers like DOTD and trying out cool shit like preordering/12oz.ers , I feel like a year from now we could be talking about Three's the way we talk about Grimm and OH. Still early but man they're up to some good shit.

I hope not. The best part of Threes is how much they aren't like OH and Grimm. No lines, no truck chasing, food/wine/outdoor biergarten vibe on site.

ive been wondering if some sort of local beer of the month club was legal. as in you sign up and pay monthly then each month the releases from local breweries (like threes other half singlecut finback transmitter ect.) would be delivered. would a partnership like this be legal or would that be considered distribution?

I applaud Threes for taking a chance on a unique sales model. I hope it works well and they continue to refine it as necessary so as to enable casual as well as devoted fans access to their beers. Can't wait for SFY to go into bottles or cans though; I'll be waiting at the door for that pre-order or no.

This SHOULD work well but isn't this what Kane did with one of their bottle releases only to have it sell out in seconds?

Yes for a gold-medal winning barrel-aged imperial stout + variants. I've seen server crashes for Black Tuesday, DDG and other more sought after bottles from more established breweries when attempting to use an online ticketing system.

Considerably more hype than what Threes is working with here, though maybe as they grow it could become problematic, but for now I think this solution suits their size. Just my 2c. I'm not a huge fan of the beer but I will probably buy a 4-pack because I'd like to see the process from front to back from the consumer side.

Yeah at least they didnt kickstart this one...
I imagine once these cans start being traded more frequently and they start to do this every other week we will see more hype. But for now lets enjoy it.

Kind of, but Threes is way harder for out-of-towners to get to, and that is one of the most hyped beers in America. And it was a BA stout.

    Fantastic stuff, @ThreesBrewing
I know other breweries think a line and hype are good for business
