I shop at Vendomes BH and sometimes feel like I'm getting overcharged. Am I? Obviously there is some degree of price difference from store to store selling the same product. What are some of the cheaper places?

So if I'm understanding this correctly: You shop at a store in Beverly Hills for craft beer and you think that you might be paying a slight premium?

How about listing what you bought and paid for?

Read and heard similar things about the Fullerton spot being pricey, so would not be at all surprised about other spots being pricey.

It depends on what you're getting. Vendome BH has great prices for a majority of the beers I enjoy, but higher than a store like Whole Foods for items like Pliny. It doesn't bother me, though, since I don't buy Pliny anyway.

Vendome BH is priced better than most other stores in my experience.

Ok bear with me here because it's been a while-- my latest homebrew has been my beer consumption recently.

Last bill was $18.07 for SN Tropical and Luponic Distortion -- Yea that's pretty good, I think FW was on sale that week.
Bill before was $34.63 for Avery Perzik, Waldo's, and MT Booming Rollers.

I can't get more specific than that.

    You're killing me.

We need something that we all know as a reference. Like, "Yeah, Hop Stoopid is $9.79!"

Or, "All their El Segundo DIPA's are over $10!"

Off the top of my head, I've observed these prices from other stores: MTBR is around $10, Waldo is around $11-$12, and Perzik is around $10-$11. Your bill doesn't sound excessive to me.

It's been awhile since I've stopped by there, but Vendome Fullerton was consistently at least $1-$2 above on bombers that were on sale at the same time at TW or BevMo or Hacienda or Mr Ks.

Don't know that TW is in the same price range as the other 3 on your list, from my experience at least.

All I know is that Vendome BH consistently has the best price on Bomb!

Vendome BH is priced prettayyyy well on most things, compared to most shops hell compared to even other Vendome locations..atleast Long is pretty forthcoming with his prices Vendome Toluca never posts prices especially on more sought after releases...which is understandable but it'd be nice to have an idea what I am paying before getting to the register..

Most beers don't have a price tag at Vendome Toluca. I've raised the issue as I'm tired of the sticker shock I get at the register.

The only way to get a good deal at Vendome Toluca Lake is to go during their new beer tastings on Thursday or their themed tasting on the weekend. You get 15% off all bottles from the tastings. In my experience those discounted prices are still higher than Vendome Beverly Hills.
That's the comparison for vendome TL to BH. Now let's compare breweries to Vendome BH (since they post their prices on Instagram)
    The Bruery Share this coffee
14.99 at the Bruery, 13.99 at Vendome BH
    Beachwood Blendery 1.3e5 & 6.6e4
$16 at Beachwood Blendery 14.99 at Vendome BH

    A Vendome to Vendome comparison:
    Hanger 24 Wing over
21.99 at Vendome Toluca Lake, 17.99 at Vendome BH

    Other places
    Phantom carriage Brett Baskerville
11.99 (on sale) at Handy Market, 10.99 at VBH
    Paradise artisan ales Birthday Bomb
8.99 at VBH, 12.99 and up everywhere else.

    Moral of the story is:
Vendome Beverly Hills consistently has the best prices on sought after beers. And Long is a great dude who knows a ton about beer. Good luck finding someone to talk to at Bevmo or Total Wine.

Why do prices vary by location? Are they individually owned?

I think so because there's another Vendome up the street from Universal Studios that's nothing like any of the other stores, completely blows

hm, Long typically lists pricing on instagram and it tends to be cheaper than most anywhere, sometimes even cheaper than whole foods. I dunno what to tell ya. If i lived around BH that'd be my go to store.
