It is in Bellingham as of yesterday. Elizabeth Station, $2.99 / ea line priced with the rest of their stuff. Darn tasty. Cheers!

I think this came out really nice, albeit something short of a mind bender (which is an admittedly unreasonable benchmark, anyway). It reminded me quite a bit of Enjoy By, which is not faint praise because that beer is great and a full-fledged DIPA, unlike this one. I, for one, plan on enjoying its run in the coming months...

It would be nice to hear more about the collaborative process involved in its creation, however. As in, who brought what to the table, and how did they tweak the recipe and sort out any differences? Perhaps it's too much trouble to bother with, but I think it would be illuminating. I took a look on their sites and didn't find anything of note.

In any event, I definitely dig the art on the cans. Does anyone know if the track suits and chains (and boombox) are real, or just some figment of a graphic designer's imagination?

    2013 was country music.
    2014 was rock and roll.
    2015 was orchestral.
    2016 is hip hop.

    Let there be Rock.

And jazz. And punk. And reggae.

I'd also love to see a Kraftwerk version.

I'd almost be willing to stand in line for something operatic and/or Avant-Garde. Maybe next year's collaboration?

Had a can yesterday, and wasn't overwhelmingly impressed. Good, but nothing outstanding. However, the can I drank tonight really hit the spot. Just a delicious, nw style ipa (imho).

This sort of thing happens to me disturbingly often. Not the majority of the time, by any means, but enough to make me wonder how many different times I really have to sample a beer to know whether I think it's good.

Two, on separate occasions, seems an absolute minimum. The first time you're almost definitely handicapped by your expectations, and in direct proportion to the degree you had any (good or bad). The second, you can at least get a little closer to the truth.

Coulda sat at the distributors. Plus, as of today, that's only 22 days. Seriously, you won't drink a 3 week old beer?

Not get too far a field, but it's one of observations I make frequently to folks who say such and such a beer isn't as good as the previous batch, based on a single sample. Yes, a particular beer can certainly vary from batch to batch, but IMHO, it's just as likely that you (the consumer) were tired, hot, cold, not feeling well, had just eaten a spicy meal, had consumed the beer after many other beers, etc., when you tried that "off" beer. That's certainly as likely an explanation as the suggested one (that the beer I tried was "off"), but I'm constantly amazed by the number of times I'll hear someone decide a beer isn't all that great , based on a single sample.

Anyway, based on my second sample, I've now decided I need more of it (sent my other two cans to a trading buddy as a couple of extras), and plan to order it when I see it on tap, as well as pick up more cans.

This has actually happened quite a few times for me, and has taught me to try a beer a couple times before completely writing it off, particularly if it's something well received/highly recommended. Vortex is an example of this, for me. I had an off batch at first, then on a tainted palette, then finally had it fresh and on tap. Completely changed my perception of the beer.

On 3-Way, I thought it was great, very citrus forward with minimal mouth bitterness. Would've liked to see a bit more pine/bittering on the finish, but crazy drinkable. Great job Melvin/BB/Fort George.
