I think right now with it being so hot that a Bell's Oberon would be a great choice. I personally love it, and I think that it's a good jumping point to show them that Bud Light isn't flavorful without being too aggressive on their pallets. Solid beer that I can drink a lot of.

Tried few times and what I found out is making my macro beer friend to become craft beer geek is way harder than just making a new beer geek friend. However, few of my friends including my girl friend got into sour beers. My gf always looks at my loons so I have to hide it somewhere

Nailed it. I would also add Blue Moon / Shock Top or an easy drinking wheat beer to the list. Some people really dig those.

My GF is not really into beer, but I've gotten her to try things. She loves Two Hearted

I would start them with a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or Sam Adams Boston Lager

SNPA is way to bitter for most as an introductory beer.

It would depend on what flavors/tastes that friend liked in general. Sweeter stuff, Flat Tire. Tart/sour things, Rodenbach or Duchesse. Coffee/tobacco/etc, stouts and old ales. There's no one size fits all answer.

I always find this question funny when it comes up. You must have the answer - what got you into craft beer? For me it was SNPA, and that's always where I suggest people start if they want to try to 'get it'. Easy to find, easy to enjoy, good price, good profile with a lot of nuances hiding in it to explore without being overbearing.

A few years back or so I personally turned a few people to the craft side with the same beer in the same month. It was New Belgium's Mothership Wit (witbier with spices) I told them it was like s#&king a gingerbreadman's d*%k. Hahha they had to try it. We all had a good laugh and they agreed with me. Sometimes you just gotta sell it to em hard.

I've started quite a few non craft beer drinkers with Two Hearted and they ALWAYS get back in touch afterwards to ask me what beer it was and where they can find it

What I do is open the fridge and start pouring samples.

Oberon or Victory Prima Pils. Do not start with pale ales!

Id ask them their preferences. Chocolate? Bitter? Heavy? Herbal or grassy? And go from their.
