I second the New England (NEBCO) suggestion, open til 7 on Friday, with 3 great pizza places in New Haven (Frank Pepes, Sallies, Amodern) afterwards, then maybe 90 min to Brooklyn.

Thanks again for all of the advice!

We booked travel today for 6/15 to 6/19, now just have to wait 7 more weeks!

Worthy Burger on way down to Boston. Best burger east of Father's Office.

Great plan. I think the food at the Pro Pig (and I love the place) is overpriced and overrated.

Rather than make a new thread I figured I would jump into this one.

I'm planning a day-trip beer run this Thursday to pick up some Heady, Trillium, etc. and was just curious, for SoS is there a major reason to go to the Warren Store after Hunger Mountain Coop rather than say Beverage Baron who seems to have it early Thursdays as well? I know Warren would have bottles, if there are any, but I would really just be looking to save time if I'm able to get 2-3 4pks at either place.

Should be able to get Sos at hunger with your heady.amd warren store vs. bevy? I prefer warren.beatiful scenery small family store.rather spend my money here.nothing against bevy.

good advice. If for some reason you have time on your hands and not enough beer in your trunk, Strangeways does a bunch of wild stuff (esp sours) and Triple Crossing is very solid as well. People like Hardywood but outside of the stouts I might pass. Answer & Mekong are great.

Two updates from my Thurs trip last week:

    - Heady is still selling out very early at Hunger Mountain. I figured since they stopped posting sold
out messages on Twitter that the end of ski season had meant it was lasting for a few hours. Not so. Heady fever seems to continue to grow. Luckily plenty of other good stuff, including 2-pack SoS limit.

    - Craft Beer Cellar in Waterbury still had SoS at a three pack limit around 5:30 on Thursday.

Doesn't seem like Lawson's is doing bottle releases with any regularity. Check their blog before you go just in case.

Thanks for the response! Even though it's not ski season anymore, and not quite "amazing weather season" I was still planning on getting there around 8am. Is this still a pretty safe bet?

Also, worth going to Beverage Warehouse for their 10am Heady allotment or stick to Bev Baron/Warren for SoS? I have to go to the CBC anyway, so I might get lucky.

I got to Hunger Mtn on 4/14 at about 12:30 and there were still about 15 cases of Heady left. The last 2 weeks have been NE school vacation which might have affected things.

Lawsons did not do many bottle releases this month due to their anniversary celebration on 4/9. They did have bottles of maple nipple and the blonde ale at Hunger Mtn on 4/14 though. I think they were left overs from their celebration.

I wouldn't go to the Warren Store for SOS cans if you can get them elsewhere. But I would definitely see what Sean is dropping in bottles that day. It may be worth the trip for that (the elusive Double Sunshine? Maple Nipple?). Meanwhile, Mad Taco could be a good stop for lunch and great taps.

I wouldn't bother with Rock Art. It's just ok and is available in stores. I'd pick up some Foley Brothers, Frost Beer Works and other stuff at CBC Waterbury next to Pro Pig. And be sure to try Pro Pig's beers, and maybe sock away a few crowlers. Some terrific stuff.

The week of our trip is finally here, and our updated plan is below with useful tips from everyone in this thread. I think we picked a pretty great week with a chance to get Hill Farmstead Damon and Lawson's Double Sunshine. Hopefully Tree House has something unique again this week (missed Jjjuliusss last week, but maybe we'll get Very Green or King Julius, they have to brew it before the anniversary party right?!). Looking forward to it!

    Wednesday
Fly from GA to Boston arriving around 12PM. Pickup rental car and drive to Trillium Fort Point / Fort Point Market. Head to Tree House for Wednesday cans. From there head to Waterbury, VT. Dinner at Prohibition Pig (or a few other options) and hit the usual spots in Waterbury. Really hoping to try Focal Banger during this stop, but that may not happen since they supposedly stopped deliveries in preparation for the new brewery location opening.

    Thursday
Drive to Hunger Mountain Coop early to get Heady cans. Leave from there as quick as possible and drive to Warren Store for SoS cans. We may reverse this to increase chances of Double Sunshine, but we realize it may reduce our chances for Heady. Next, drive to Hill Farmstead and sample some drafts, plus pickup bottles and growlers to go. Back towards Boston, stopping at Night Shift and staying in that area for the night.

    Friday
See some of Boston in the AM. Hit Trillium in Canton to pickup any remaining bottles needed and sample some draft in the newly opened taproom. Head back to Tree House early enough to ensure we get the Thursday can run and the Friday can run, plus some growlers. Dinner at BT's Smokehouse, then drive to just north of NYC to stay the night.

    Saturday
Hit Other Half for their Saturday can release (hoping to head out by 11AM or so). Drive to Philly for a quick stop at Tired Hands. Drive to Richmond, VA and stop at The Veil and then The Answer / Mekong and stay the night.

    Sunday
Drive the rest of the way back to GA with a car full of world class beer to enjoy all summer long! This one has not changed and it won't!

Waterbury is pretty much sold out of Focal by this point. The only place I know that had some recently was the Best Western and that was several days ago, so it may be gone now. Stowe has a few locations with Focal still around though.. checking Untappd check in locations is definitely the way to find out.

Gotta say, that is a pretty bad@$$ trip. I don't think I would have the stamina. Will be an awesome haul!

Drive the five minutes to Mystic when you hit Night Shift...and Castle Island is close to Canton, some great brews!

You might want to just check out Worden Hall for some Trillium on tap. They had 7 on as of a few days ago...and it's less than a mile from Trillium Fort Point.

Be sure to visit jacks Abby in Framingham after you visit trillium. Get a good lunch there , some rarities on draft and some bottled lagers to go.

What time does Beverage Baron in Barre get Sip on Thursdays? If go straight from there after picking up Heady at Hunger Mtn, will Sip be available in the morning? Or is Warren Store safer option?

    @emr25 , enjoy the trip!
