I liked regal, reg, and Rare (though not worth the price of entry), coffee was good fresh but the last one I had was obviously infected, Prop was way too sweet (not sure if that will change over time, BW was not great fresh and the last bottle I tried was awful.

Really liked regal, but that was the only variant I've had. I imagine a non-infected coffee one being amazing.

Try to score a '14 Coffee. You probably won't be mad.

Should try to get '14 Coffee and Regal! Will be in the states in a week and it will be my first time to try BCBS. Really looking forward to that beer.

I'll take the Pain Jane BCBS over any of the variants.

Bummed to see the word "dat" has found its way to South Korea.

Bottles of variants will be impossible to find in NYC, you may get lucky with something on tap, set yourself up some beer menu alerts.

Yes I'm trying to set up a trade, but heard there are lots of reg in the city, so excited.

I think Regal is my favorite '15 variant - though that's not to knock Prop or Rare. A friend busted out a bottle of each variant at a recent bottleshare and judging by how long I nursed my 4 ounce pour of Regal, it must have been the winner.

Regular you can get on tap or in bottles. Regular is awesome, so don't stress if you can get variants. Mexican Cake is all over the city on tap, try to get it, awesome beer.

As someone who lives just a few hours from the brewery and has yet to see the beer on tap, I can calmly and genuinely say to hell with that nonsense.

I use nursing as an indication of my least favorite, but I get your logic.

I mentioned beermenus to you in another thread, but I think you should start using it now. Get yourself familiar with it (if you aren't already) and start to make some plans. It's used by many places in NYC. Use you hotel address for it. Make sure you check the date to see when a listing was updated. Don't trust the listings for bottles at stores if there are a lot of bottles listed.

Yeah already marked some places, checking for taps regularly. But there are so many great beers to check all :grinning: I thought beers with lots of lists were credible, but guess it's the opposite! Thanks for the heads up.

Old bcbcs was always totally mind blowing to me. I tried a sip of prop 14 once. Otherwise I've only ever tried coffee, regular, and BW. Coffee though.. hard to admit but one of my favorite beers I've ever had. Lucky to have had a few bottles.

Haven't had rare or a proper coffee yet, but Regal gets my vote slightly over Prop.

If you can find a '15 Barleywine on tap, it is great. I had a fresh coffee the day after the release and I did not think it was nearly as good as '14. The regular is excellent as always.

We did a tour at Goose Island back in April and I asked the guy after the tour how the barleywine kegs are not infected but the bottles were. He said they were actually all infected but the kegs are all in cold storage, so it is keeping the infection at bay. They had the barleywine on tap and sure enough, it was outstanding.

I would not trade for any 2015 BC variants.

    Coffee: Ok
    BW: Fantastic

Have a regal and a prop aging. Guess I'll find out eventually :stuck_out_tongue:
