Jeff Stuffings responded to the price increase comment on Facebook - JK hasn't had a price increase in four years. It's definitely time for one.

Is it? Don't get me wrong I will still buy it for $20 per bottle but $20 is pretty rough for that size of a bottle. Especially when you see breweries like de Garde selling fruit sours for $12-$16 in 750's.

Lol. That is a horrible reason to increase prices

You chose the 1 brewery that is significantly below market pricing. Everyone else on the market has risen their prices over the last 4 years. $20 isn't unheard of, are we supposed to like it? Of course not, but you can't be surprised by the increase

I was planning on throwing one of these in a 6 bottle trade with a buddy that works at Allagash. He has fruited sours and cool ship beers set aside for me, but that $20 price makes it a little harder for me to let one go.

Not when JK's prices probably go up every year. If you read the entire comment, it makes sense. He also mentioned the time in the barrel and the space it takes up. An $8 increase may seem like a big jump in price, but it's not ridiculous.

Those coolship beers are 375ml and $15... That's literally the exact same price (Per mL)

$20?! That's a lot of money for 500ml. And to say it's been underpriced doesn't seem like a valid point. I mean JK seems to have been doing well financially with their pricing. I could be wrong, what do I know.

De Garde doesnt have a problem doing it. Wicked Weed sells their fruit sours for $14-$16 and they come in 500 ml. Collective Brewing in Ft. Worth has been selling theirs fruit sours for less than $20. Other breweries seem to be able to do it. Hell, you can get a Cherry Fruit Stand from Casey for $20.

JK's CODB and overhead has definitely increased. That massive land purchase certainly wasn't cheap.

Plus all the future expansion and things they want to accomplish take a lot of capital; both human and monetary.

I have no problem with the price increase. Hopefully it is just on the fruited sours and super limited brews, and not the majority of the stuff they put out.

Kinda funny y'all are complaining about $20.

Didn't JK just buy a ton of land, complete bathrooms, and repair a road? Never mind the fact they, like was mentioned, have a ton of space occupied by aging beer.

So are you saying you won't purchase any more fruited sours? Or the spontaneous brew when that comes out and is probably $20 375ml and $40 750ml (pure speculation)?

It kind of sounds like you are satisfied with other breweries. Seems like you should just skip this release.

Go back and read what I said first.... "Don't get me wrong I will still buy it for $20 per bottle but $20 is pretty rough for that size of a bottle"

    I am going to!

If the lines are shorter because of $4, I say job well done.

JK fruits will continue to easily sell out at $20, that's just a smart business decision to make that change. Hopefully the added revenue will lead to increased capacity and greater availability.
