My rule of thumb is to not feel sorry for anyone who waits in line for beer. The longer they wait, the less sympathy they get. It's beer.

The exponential growth in popularity of Aslin is insane. I love their beer, but no way am I standing in line for hours. I just feel lucky to have gone a few times when there 10-20 people in there max. Only beer I haven't tried is the Masters of Karate.

Uhh...what I meant to say was, "definitely get there early. Even though they've never had more than a handful of people there before open and they've never sold out of a beer in one day, get there early."

Would it be better if they suspended crowlers for the time being and only filled growlers. Would cut down on traders. Good thing for those of us who are local, but is it good for them?

Also wonder if they have considered giving Beltway a try to make a batch for them. Would help with supply.

My first trip to Aslin yesterday went well, other than some confusion when I arrived. Got there around 12:30, saw the line, and decided it wasn't worth it. My friends were already inside, having bypassed the crowler line to just drink there. I tried to go in and at first was blocked by a bunch of ill-informed people telling me that the line was just to get in (it wasn't) and telling me the brewery was at capacity (also not true). It was cleared up eventually and I went in and had pours of Karate and Starfish. They were both solid, but I'm happy with my decision to not wait for crowlers - I don't really need more of either beer.

Agree with what some have said on here. They would be best served limiting to draft only or maybe growlers and no crowlers until they can increase capacity.

This weekend seemed to be a perfect storm for Aslin. Three hoppy beers plus limited glassware and T-shirts. Guess we shouldn't be surprised crowds of hop heads and traders showed up.

One saving grace from Aslin's popularity is the hope one of the other local breweries noticed and tries to brew something comparable.

Good to hear you could still go in and drink without dealing with the Crowler line. That makes me feel better and will be back in that case. I'm happy to have a few and don't feel the need to always bring some home.

cracked open a 4/29 crowler of Small Town last night that I sort of forgot about. It held up better than I was expecting, but most of that juiciness was gone.

Does anyone know when Lost Rhino's Dark Hours will be released again in bottles? Someone was nice enough to give me a bottle and I was extremely impressed and would like to get my hands on more.

Yeah, I waited in line to get in and noone mentioned anything about seperate lines. I was starting to think it was just something people were making up to not have to wait. Aslin definitely needs at least some signage next time. What they really need to do is put the crowler sales desk right outside the garage door so it's not completely blocking the entrance.

I completely agree. The fact that there is a large community of people who can't seem to understand the whole "it's beer" thing just blows my mind. As soon as lines get involved, I'm 100% out.

It's Father's Day weekend. That was probably part of the Aslin perfect storm weekend. A brewery on Father's Day weekend is like a spa on Mother's Day weekend.

I must admit that I have never been to a spa, even thought my significance other wants me to go so that I can be naked in public, just not my thing, so I wouldn't know.

Ocelot consistently makes good beers, so I am very happy for them, and for me, as I have had most of their beers thus far and it makes me hoppy!

Apparently almost all of Solar Abyss, er Space Reaper, went into distribution. Only sold 100 cases at the brewery and it went in about 45 mins. Really glad I came up here, WTF.

So, who's got leaky cans? I didn't even bother going because they had so much left over last year it only made sense they'd disto more this year. Anyway, that sounds annoying.
