@jd_bamd2k still no response, we agreed on a ship date, and I sent my box out on that morning. He even sent me a picture of the howlers that he was going to send me. Didn't hear from him for 3 days, then he said that he lost his phone and forgot about the trade, he said he would get everything boxed up and ship the next day. No communication since then. I sent him No Rules, hazels nuts, and extras and he agreed to send me some Bottle logic howlers. I have tried to txt him and I've sent him messages on BA. I know that he has seen the BA messages but he has not responded.

    @TheKlevin

Can you please provide some details on the *time* period of the trade.

Also, did you use the trading system? And did both parties accept.

I would say yes, as @jd_bamd2k now has negative feedback from @TheKlevin

Yes we used the feedback system. First contact was June 8. Then we agreed to ship on June 13, I shipped and he did not respond to messages until a couple days later when he stated that he would ship on Thursday. No contact since then. My box was delivered to him on Friday.

Seems a bit hasty to burn someone with bad feedback only 7 days after the agreed ship date. While your trading partner's actions could be better (namely communication), it's generally good form to give them sufficient time to make things right.

With that said, @jd_bamd2k should probably replace the howlers (which are now over a week old) or return your beers.

I was thinking the same thing 7 days from agreed ship date isn't very long, but if you drop off communication you can get antsy. People not coming on over the weekend isn't that out of the ordinary either especially with the holiday weekend.

It might be a bit hasty, but he has been on Beeradvocate, so he has certainly seen my messages asking for any sort of update, and there has been zero response.

You followed the rules no one is faulting you for doing that before posting the BT thread. feedback is adjustable too and if necessary you can change it.

I don't think it is too quick when you are talking howlers. The product he is supposed to send is no good now.
    Is it still available?

Looks like it's still on tap, he sent me a picture of the filled growlers, I would hope that if I hear from him he would get some fresh ones.

Looks like a lot of trades for this new member in a short time. This has led to trouble in past. Hopefully it will lead to a resolution here.

I get antsy when I see new guys start to do 2+ trades a week, we all remember how easy it is to say yes when you're new, and how quick the bills can add up playing this delicious hobby.

I don't think it's too soon to leave Negative feedback. Those growlers are no longer fresh so even if he can get there and buy new growlers and ship them, at that point OP would receive his box 2 weeks later than agreed upon. Add the fact that there has been little to no communication since they agreed to ship and negative feedback seems fitting to me. I've said it many times and I'll say it again, you don't have to be a thief to be a bad trader. This to me is a bad trade even if he does get his beer in a week or two.

Trader agreed to ship then all the sudden lost his phone (how many times have we heard this? As if he doesn't have a tablet or computer). Then he forgot about the trade? How can you forget about a trade with growlers sitting in your fridge? Then he said once again that he would ship the next day which was 4 days ago and he hasn't responded to the OPs messages since that time even though he has been on BA. He very conveniently left the lines of communication open until he received his end of the deal. Bad trader in my mind.

OP, my one question to you is, do you have FedEx/UPS notifications set up? I know for me, even if my partner doesn't provide a tracking number I get notifications from FedEx or UPS to let me know when something is on it's way. If you don't then isn't it possible that he shipped and just hasn't provided tracking?

Yeah if you forget about a trade before it's been completed you're a bad trader and deserve a negative rating for that alone regardless what happens after that. Ridiculous.

I have suggested this before, not sure if it is possible or not, but as soon as the bad trader banner is out on someone's profile, their access to the site should be limited to the thread they are tagged in. It must be a real kick in the nuts for someone to be owed beer, have the bad trader in question ignore you yet they access the trade forum.

They wouldn't have access to this forum either as it is combined with trading threads

I mean specifically only access to bad traders sub forum, although I have no idea how this is all setup.

Code wise I'd imagine you'd have to have a separate subforum that was coded separately but that would give the standard users (non-verified and non-traders) access to the forum
