I'm not sure if you know, or even care about this, but how do you see Giant Eagle stocking wine now that grocery stores will be able to sell it?

I know space is already limited for beer in most Giant Eagles. Will it more partake in store expansion or elimination of certain diaper departments?

 

@randylangford will know best, but my thought is: if GE can stock wine, they will. They did it briefly with those awful vending machines, so guessing they would find room to sell it again. Personally, it'd be nice to grab beer and wine in one stop.

 

I bet most stores will likely downsize their beer area to make room for wine.

 

Different solutions will happen at different stores most likely. And diaper departments are important too especially adult diapers.

You are likely correct.

That's a possibility but if it happens I suspect that it would only be temporary until more long term solutions could be put in place.

But, I know nothing.

You had this batch/canning?

More than 10 years worth of drinking Troegs beer has taught me that batch consistency is not their strong suite. Especially when it comes to hoppy beer and even moreso when we are talking scratch beer to scratch beer and/or scratch brewed upscaled to larger production (as this beer seems to be.)

 

First batch was a top 3 DIPA for me. Very similar in flavor to Focal Banger and Todd the Axeman (all 3 being citra and mosaic with simple grain bills). I have not had this batch but if it's 80% as good, it's still better than 99% of the beers out there.

 

I dont think this batch uses citra. Supposedly its azacca, mosaic and simcoe.

Regardless, im looking forward to trying it.

gratitude release was pretty low key the whole internet buy kind of crunched the event type feel.....i like this beer fresh but 2012 and 13 were kind of similar besides the lack of carb in 12.....the 14 in wigle rye barrel was sort of cool bc the barrel was decent and really wore off on the color of brew! i got a bunch of beer in my fridge i would have brought to share but there wasnt anyone to share it with!! lol let me know if anyone is going down later to share......

We can tell this new wholesaler is dedicated to freshness. That PB IPA hasn't even been tapped yet and its almost 3 months old. Lovely .

 

Price, inconsistent product quality and the long delay all combined to really kill any hype for that release. Those things, combined with how Voodoo and BG are killing it, have put a massive crater in EE's margin. I went to the BA release last year... Was about 15th in line in fact, and didn't even consider going this year for a single second.
