A play on words relating the story of when Blues Guitarist Robert Johnson met the Devil at the Delta Crossroads where he offered his soul in exchange for musical talent. The place really exists, I've been there.

Lazy Magnolia Brewery Me and The Dev-Ale



Appearance: Rose gold with egg shell cap and good lacing.

Aroma: Nice, sweet malt followed by notes of citrus and conifer.

Taste: Rich, sweet malt, rounded hops dovetailing in, malt leads from entry to mid palate where the hops catch up and linger through the aftertaste. On first tasting I thought a Belgian Tripel made with American hops. This is a rather simple combination but it works.

Texture: Full medium if that makes any sense.

Overall: A good, uncomplicated blend of malt and hops. It does taste like a Belgian Tripel with American hops, citrusy, resiny, but not too much or too little. At 8% I won't be knocking 'em back but I can see this as an interesting change of pace.

 

These Kent Falls beers keep getting better and better. Cheers!

Having a Led's Hop IPA from the Italian brewery Pogue Mahone...and just got my first 3 bottles of Cantillon for the trip home! Looking forward to harvesting the yeast/bugs for some homebrew projects!!!

Well, I'm back and I clearly made things harder on myself for the GotD Award by not showing up yesterday. But it was for good reason (deep sea fishing off the Catalina coast with some good friends and neighbors). But here is an overdue 6-21-16 award commencement. YESTERDAY'S Glass of the Day Award goes to @bowzer4birdie for his beautiful empty, then full, then I assume empty again Hopus glass, even despite his shameless submission (which I can appreciate. It it quite a prestigious award after all). 2nd Place clearly goes to @JayORear for his amazing Modern Times over sized tulip (p.s. thank you! @MUTINY can attest that I would've given myself the award for the same glass if it weren't for corruption reasons.) And in 3rd, the obvious choice was @nicholas2121 for his last minute Busch Beer dimpled vintage chalice with appropriate beer. Congrats all, Cheers, and I'll see ya soon for more beer ****, and GotD!

Today I needed a nice sipper while I clean and found the perfect beer Hiding in the back of the fridge was a year old corked bottle of St-Ambroise Barrel aged scotch ale. I'm excited to comepare it to the new bottle I had last year. Cheers!

Enjoying another North Peak beer. This one is better, at least so far. Doing a bit of research on retirement (!). I know it's lame, but I also don't want to work into my 70s. Maybe I should have gone into teaching.... It's 25 years and done here. Anyway, cheers.
