Unfortunately he could be out of luck if he doesn't have a WA state id. With the Blue Heron sticker of course.

It's actually a smart chip now, so be sure to pick up your new one soon. Because Security Matters.

Well, he's definitely welcome, but he better not bring a Texas-sized hand truck, and much less an Alaska-sized one.

It's all rainbows at Fremont right now for Pride Week. Maybe Rusty Nail next week.

I think the 29th was the date that was thrown out, but hasn't been mentioned since. Hopefully that will be the case as it's what I'm planning for.

I think Fremont is playing the long-con on this. They keep saying it'll be ready, they keep finding "reasons" to push the date back, eventually we lose interest in following along, and then, in a whisper, there it is on the shelves. Single-handedly derailing the hype-train.

This is what I've been hearing as well. Was also happy to hear to that most of the accounts that are getting bottles (sounds like most places here in PDX are getting no more than a case), are also getting a keg/sixtel as well. Am hopeful I can at least sample a glass, assuming I'm unable to purchase a bottle.

I've heard how that works: bottles in a case: 12
    store owner gets 1
employees get, say, 3 for sake of conversation
that leaves 8 for favored customers
I think I'll take my chances at the brewery.
Not saying that's bad, just that's how it works. If I owned a store or even worked at one I'd make sure I got a bottle too.

Fortunately, the store I plan to visit only has two employees (co-owners), and they aren't greedy. So I'm assuming there will be 11 bottles available for favored customers. Unfortunately, I'm still working on that "favored customer" angle, and am not sure I yet qualify. :-(

I heard a rumor that the reason the labels were delayed was because of a naming conflict with another beer named "Rusty Nail." (the other being a Pale Ale by Crooked Fence Brewing in Eagle Idaho). Perhaps the delay could turn into a longer one if one side is forced to change the name or it takes a while to make an agreement for both beers to coexist with the same name.

Ah, the joys of expanding distribution into other states.

If Fremont ever distributed to BC, they might have issue with R&B who also makes a Dark Star Oatmeal Stout.

If true, it's happened to Fremont before with Solstice.

As much as that annoyed me, at least it wasn't as crazy as the whole Kentucky Dark Star situation.

Bottles should make it into E-Station and Food Coop, draft likely at ES and Copper Hog. Maybe even Greenes Corners.

Is this where I rabble rabble and argue with everybody over beer?

Not my place to tell anyone how to run their business, but not very smart to try and break into 3 new states with a very limited production beer, and then hype the crap out of it.
You couldn't have used bbomb or KDS to solidify your status in OR, CO, and ID?

Instead we are only seeing 40-50 cases at UBG? 2/pp? So basically those who take work off and line up with their paid mules at 7am buy them all, and the rest are SOL. But I guess No ones "entitled" to special releases, and you can't please everyone, so tough titties.
Just seems funny all the employees (and friends of) hyping their whale here by talking about tents and how limited it is.

no point crying over not being able to get beer, just seems very poorly planned and surely going to be a sh*tshow.
I don't know why Brewers think super-tight limits ensure that everyone gets some. Tighter limits = more mules. You could just keep more beer in house or to local retailers.
Limiting a grossly hyped release even FURTHER by shipping out large quantities to other states just exacerbates the issue.
But it is what it is.
    Beer game is srs biz
Hopefully a local shop gets some and likes me enough to save me a bottle.
Good luck to anyone going to the release!

Appreciate you saving me from typing something similar to this. I'll be on the road the next few weeks so unless wife-mule can work her magic, i'll just have to remember B1 fondly.
