Good morning, advocators! A few folks still trying to hit up yesterday's post and a strangely late start this morning, but better late than never.

Though, for some of us, the late start is always in effect...

Yeah--must have been groggy, because I started posting in yesterday's thread mistakenly (should say posted again, because already posted yesterday morning with those morning beers). Actually didn't notice until trying to quote someone unsuccessfully.

No worries, because there's more beer.

After many painstaking argumentative meetings, the GotD staff and I decided on a change of format. The award shall now be given each FOLLOWING day, allowing the participation of ALL BA's for their potential time in the limelight. Your concerns were heard, BA's. Strength in numbers. OK, aside from none of the previous statements being true (except for the format), here it goes. And the Glass of the Day Award goes to:
1st: @slarrage for his magic trick pint glass (which I cant copy and paste so, see for yourself here http://www.beeradvocate.com/communi...-drinking-now-1342.428774/page-6#post-4856688 Congratulations!
at 2nd: @cjgiant for his stellar use of margarita tubs during this heat wave! Well, at least here. Those made me thirsty!
and 3rd: I have to give it to @Beer-Panda for the elegant Orval chalice with matching beer. Not just for the glass itself, but that stunning picture.
Honorable mentions go to, @dcotom for that fine pilsner flute followed by the drunken tumbler later in the evening, to @Whimpers for some resourcefulness with the hotel cup, and to @highdesertdrinker for that Societe chalice (one of the best up and coming breweries in my opinion). Cheers all!

It's an honor to just be mentioned in such fine company. And I can delude myself into thinking I won due to the technicality that led my pic to be the first shown. Glad to see the committee having some consideration for the LNBAs - even if just to quell the call for a vote to exit WBAYDN .

    Sam Adams Cream Stout

Appearance: Very dark with reddish highlights, light head and lacing.

Aroma: Dark roasted malt and coffee, definitely coffee. Little in the way of other malts or hops.

Taste: Reasonably good, I mean one expects a stout to have darker malt and coffeeish tones, this one seems to lean toward coffee more so than malt. The roast and coffee notes are all there as the other ingredients are covered by those two flavors. Finish is clean with little aftertaste. I was a bit surprised by the absence of bitterness which the first sip implied would follow the finish.

Texture: Medium but lighter than other stouts I've tasted.

Overall: Stout Lite? Something like that.

Happy Friday BA. This was a Dads Day gift from my son. He's now 21 and can buy me beer! Good stuff.

Thanks @Lingenbrau ! I like this GotD more and more  Makes us aware how important proper glassware can be for special beers like Orval.
I like to take this opportunity to add that I bought this glass years ago at the Orval Monastery itself.

Almost 17.30 around here now. Sipping this Imperial Porter in the after rain sunshine and listening to Miles.
