Random question/comment: the last few times I had growler fills at Voodoo, the beer has been flat. Happened to me on two separate occasions recently. Growlers opened with 72 hours. I noticed they don't use a tube and they had to pour off a lot of foam when filling. All beers were IPAs. I absolutely love their stuff but it makes me think twice about filling up. Haven't noticed this problem elsewhere.

 

Was this Meadville or Homestead? All the growlers I get filled in Meadville seem to hold up fine.

Pouring off the foam is actually fine because they are filling it to the top with beer

 

Homestead. Agree on the foam but each time it's taken them a very long time to get the foam out. Maybe I just have bad growlers... nothing but good things to say about Voodoo.

 

Happens to me as well occasionally. I typically drink their growlers the day of or next day so it's fine, but if more than a day it is a bit flat. Figured it was due to no tube as well.

 

I haven't run into that problem with fills in Homestead. I recently filled a stainless growler (with the heftly screw on lid) on a Saturday and sent it to trader in Chicago. He cracked it Wed or Thurs and it was still good. Generally when I fill the regular old glass growlers, I typically don't wait more than a day to open.

 

I think I need to improve my growlers. Time for an investment.

rivertowne corn roast was delicious and the mangs up mango sour was real nice and jah mon is drinking great! brew gents is killing it too with the akamai and lemonade 2000.....general braddock surprised me too way better than my past experiences......more maple brukfast please!

 

Anyone know when W00tstout 4.0 will come to Pittsburgh?
