Yep. All good on allowing case sales...I can buy cases. Everyone should also be able to buy six packs without difficulty. If Sumpin Sumpin was in cans, I'd probably go with 12 packs.

Maybe his particular regular is staffed by people who've been burned by the authorities for violating the rules. Or it's just staffed by assholes.

It doesn't suck at all if it's a beer you like. :grimacing:

LOL. And those types are usually not the actual majority.

True. I guess I like so many of 'em, I enjoy more of a variety.

    I found this: http://www.nyc.gov/html/mancb3/downloads/cb3docs/sla-200-500ft-rule.pdf

Not sure if it's just for NYC or for NYS. Still, lame.

Anything under 500ml has to be purchased in quantities of 3 or more. Some stores will let you mix and match instead of having to buy a $40 four-pack of Prairie Okie. The ones that don't have tons of old, expensive four packs sitting around.

35 of the 75 counties in Arkansas are dry. Grocery stores can only sell beer that is 6.2%abv or lower. No package sales on Sunday except at brewpubs.

I'm hoping most of this will be changing soon. It's all due to the Baptist Church's stranglehold on this state. So ridiculous.

Didn't mean you specifically. That was a generic "you". Net effect is that some will stop someplace for the sake of variety, and drive home. Guessing there's more of that than there would be, because you can't get that single beer to take home.

Whether case-only law limits consumption , or increases it, is something I'd be curious to find out. Don't think increased consumption was the intent, but many laws have unintended consequences. ; )

I can get any container filled as a growler at any place that has a tap and the desire to do it, including any growler at any brewery. How about you?

Definitely all of NY, because this was an issue for a place here (not NYC) that just opened in the past month.

A lot of mention of PA idiocy, but don't recall anyone mentioning the 192oz limit. Can't carry out more than 192oz on purchased beer. I bought a bunch of stuff from some place in Erie a few years back and they wereally pretty adamant that I could only carry out 192oz and my wife had to carry out the rest.

Touche. I'm not much into growler fills, but definitely see it's benefits. When I visit Oregon, I get quite jealous of that perk...i.e. Love Handles in Bend. My statement was more to be a sarcastic asshole about my state in general, rather than it's beer laws. Cheers!

The good news is that on January 1st 2017, beer up to 10.1% ABV can be sold at TN grocery stores (now limited to 6.5% and lower). Not sure what else changes. It always amazes me how antiquated so many state laws are.

That's more weight than I can carry anyway, what with walking on a cane and opening doors, but I raise my fist in solidarity with my beer brethren supporting their right to carry as much as they can tote.

It amazes me how antiquated some of the judges are, you'd think there would be a best by date or something.

No qualms about buying by the case here. I taste different brews in bars, but at home I'm usually (like now!) drinking from a growler of Trillium or another nearby brewery. Fresh is best! I often buy 12ers (often Ipswich or Sierra) 'cause they're excellent, and in Massachusetts it's quite a bit cheaper that way.
Though I ended up collecting growlers, and maybe this was the cause, the growler-filling law in Mass has got to go. The 'No Alcohol Sunday' thing confused me for years, moving up from NY. Thankfully that's over. Praise the lord!

The Lord works in mysterious ways. That or they couldn't afford a liquor license.

I know guys who run liquor store chains and they do not want to be open 7 days a week. By having no Sunday sales they get a day off and don't have to lose business to Kroger, WalMart, etc.

I used to think it was religious types too but it's not.

That's a county restriction. NYS State Law only disallows beer sales between 3 AM - 8 AM on Sundays, and for on-premises between 4 AM - 8 AM 7 days a week. Downstate NY's got it real good. I'll never forget my last trip to VT and not being allowed to buy beer at a grocery store at 10:05 PM. Grr.
