Monkish Brewing

Thinking of making the trek to Monkish tomorrow for the new releases. With all the craziness of the morning, any good tips for a newbie?

 

I'd say to just bring a chair and something to read/do. I believe those who arrived just before 10 last time were still able to get cans so while there will be people there really early, you can usually still get your allotment if you come a bit later. Also finding someone in line to talk beer to helps pass the time.

Thanks for the advice. What is their growler fill policy? Are the new releases typically limited to just cans?

 

They should be posting on Instagram today with all the info regarding which beer is available for growler fills. I believe they ran out of their own growlers but fill others if you cover up the logo, or they can do it for a small fee. The new releases are usually on tap as well as cans.

 

Yes. The Monkish house culture has developed a nice tartness to it.

I wonder why they don't do wristbands.

 

They've done wristbands the last few times I've gone to the release. Each time has been earlier and for them as people have been showing earlier and earlier.

 

I'd put money on someone getting there at 4am. And it wouldn't even shock me if that person wasn't the first in line.

 

They've done wristbands since the 3rd release. And the wristband is taken from you when you buy the beer.

 

I foresee someone sleeping in their cars overnight just to be in the front of the line. Nowadays nothing surprisesme lol.
