The cans on shelves are super fresh and taste better than any time I've had it from the bottle. I just had a few last night along with some NB Ranger, another super solid cheap and available IPA that doesn't get much love.

Great beer, the Torpedo is. Thank you, Sierra Nevada, for making it so available and at such a decent price. I'm leaning towards the can. I think it actually is better than the bottle. 16 oz is the perfect size. Now, if they'd come in 6 packs, and with churchkey-only opening, they would be absolutely perfect.

Agreed; everyone is entitled to their opinion - but for my $$$ I think SN represents top quality and value.

This thread makes me a sad panda. I recently purchased a 12-pack of Torpedo that was mishandled at some point, brought it back to the liquor store, but they would only exchange it for another 12-er in the same shipment. I need to get through these subpar Torpedos so I can get some fresh ones!...maybe through cans.

So, this past couple weeks has been relatively tight as far as money goes. I just bought a 12pk of Torpedo for 12.99......12-fucking-99!

I mean, c'mon, the fact that you can get an IPA that, IMO and from what i can tell from the reviews on here, can go toe to with the big guys. And that's a regular price. This alone I think is deserving of a thread.

That aside, its always available and I can consistently find it fresh (by my standards, I like it to be within 3 months) and it comes in cans which, aside from all of the often mentioned benefits, fits neatly into the door of my fridge (unlike a cube of 12 bottles:wink:).

So, anyone agree? Disagree? Not really give a damn because you don't like IPAs?
Either way I think all the old classics/favorites deserve to be talked about on here as much as all the hip new sought after brews, cheers!

We just picked up a twelve pack of Torpedo cans, our first buy in at least a year. We've been doing the " bigger and better" IPA thing for quite a while and it was good to have a SN mainstay again, though it's always available. Cannned on June 5th and consumed exactly 30 days later. Nice!

I love the 4 pack of 16oz cans. I wish Sierra Nevada canned everything.

Torpedo is an excellent IPA and incredibly consistent. I'd say this about several other SN brews, but Torpedo is an American craft beer icon. Definitely appreciated by this BA.

Until this thread i didn't realize how long it had been since I Torpedoed last. I do like the beer as much as any IPA with exception of Tropicalia, Sculpin and 2 Hearted. Easy to find and cheap where I am .

Like pretty much everything SN makes, I love Torpedo. Actually picked up a 4-pack of Torpedo cans this week and look forward to having one or two tonight. Hell, my love of breweries like SN, which I can always get at a great price and fresh, is part of the reason I stopped chasing whales several years ago.

    Cheers!

I really do like Torpedo but I pay $40 a case here in Pa not $30 like everyone else so it has to compete and by default is not as good as the rest.

Sierra Nevada is half my inventory at any given time. Torpedo is just another example of their overall excellence and quality!!!

I love Torpedo, great IPA for the price (or any price). I do have quite a bit of trouble finding it fresh, however. I was in 2 different stores in the past couple of weeks and I couldn't find any that wasn't 6-8 months old, and saw 4 packs of Torpedo cans on sale that were almost a year old. And these were two stores that move a lot of craft beer.

SN represents everything that is good about larger craft breweries. Great Beer, great distro(fresh), great price, and flawless consistency.

No shit. At 7.3% ABV, $8.39 a 6-pack and $14.99 for a 12-pack, this is my favorite budget beer.

This has been my house beer for years for all the reasons mentioned already. When I moved from the midwest to AZ the price went from $15 a 12 pack to $13 a 12 pack and it's usually a little fresher. I've never found a better value for quality, ABV, and availability.
