Good morning everyone =) Well I was going to roast dave the other day for his birthday but then it got really hot and I melted. Luckily that little dog with the pliny around his neck found me. Cheers !

 

Off tomorrow (to continue work outside), but that makes Thursday my Friday. Drinks abound.

 

Boy, today's going to be another great day! Took a walk while it's cool (Well, sort of.). A strata for breakfast, then a nap. I'll probably go see Independence Day, now that the crowds are gone, then another nap. I don't know what's for dinner, but who cares?

Right now, a 32 oz. fill of Ozark's Onyx Coffee Cream Stout.

Green Flash West Coast IPA
8.10%, 95 IBU



Appearance: Beautiful clear gold with white cap and good lacing.

Aroma: Very piney, citrusy, hop forward.

Taste: Hop forward with malt apparent more in the body than flavor. Malt is there but it's an underlayer. The brew doesn't strike me as very complex but it does have great balance. Clean but long, and I mean long, lingering bitter hop aftertaste.

Texture: Medium to full.

Overall: At 8.1% and 95 IBUs one expects a blockbuster. This one's big, even brawny, but lacking in finesse. The trailer truck load of hops dominate the flavor almost to exclusion of the malt. This is a brew for hop fanciers or those who want to see what a big hop brew is about. My rating is not as high as others because I don't find it anything more than the same sorta IPA with more stuffing. More of everything without actually being any more flavorful than standard IPAs.

 

We decided to put in a little bird feeder to increase the cats' entertainment. So far it's only feeding tiny mammals, but both our furry indoor friends are getting a kick out of it.

While they're busy considering the benefits of murder, I'm enjoying Dinner for the first time. There really are few better balanced beers out there that capture the smoothness of this brew. Just marvelous.

6.2% alcohol. 61 IBU. Brewed in Memphis. Chunky! Pretty dull, though.

Gonnas be hot as hell today. Picked up some Quinannan Falls yesterday, got it on ice now, can't wait to try it!

Definitely get the watermelon. Lite and watery. A lawn mower beer for sure.
