It was members only with any leftovers going to Beer Temple for 1pp. My guess would be around 500 ish, but I could be wrong.

Did he mention anything about the Michigan membership releases? I have a Michigan membership and I have to admit I am a bit annoyed that we didn't get a crack at Kentuckley. Hoping he has another batch in the works.

Beer can not be moved state to state. He can only release what is brewed in each state. So what is brewed in Illinois stays in Illinois and what is brewed in Michigan stays in Michigan. This batch of Kentuckley was made in Illinois, that's why Michigan members didn't get any. There is currently Buckley in barrels in Michigan so next year around this time you will have your chance to get it. Hope that helps clear things up.

Beer is moved from state to state all the time. I am guessing that you mean it has to go through proper distribution channels, which might make sense. The most recent Buckley release seems to fly in the face of this, however. It was released in Illinois bottle shops and the Bridgeman taproom in bottles at the same time. It seems far-fetched that he brewed separate batches in Illinois (at another brewery) and Michigan at the same time (although this is possible).

I am not trying to be bitchy and pedantic. I am really just disappointed that the Michigan folks have not had a release yet and we seem to have missed out on a good one.

Yes through proper distribution is what I meant. Chris self distributes and with that you can only distribute in the state it is brewed. And yes he made 2 batches of Buckley this year, one at Hailstorm and one at the Bridgman brewery. You can look at the labels for each release and it tells you where it was brewed and packaged at. Even with Michigan going he is still brewing at other locations in Illinois and plans to continue doing so. Chicago is where he started and wants to keep the relationships open and good with those that have supported him from day one.

The membership period hasnt even started yet.
Kentuckley was brewed over a year ago, specifically for the initial members who supported him. do you suggest he sits on bottles until then?

seems absurd. but if it helps, this will not be the last time we see a delicious barrel aged stout from Chris. there will be plenty more to come.

I imagine there will be some Michigan beers that the IL-only folk will be disappointed to miss. Just buy extras and trade for a Kentuckley.

I didn't get any notification about Kentuckley. Was it for Michigan only?

Kentuckley was Illinois only as the Michigan membership did not exist when Kentuckly was put in barrels.

I just got it through Beer Temple as a member of IL. Anyone know when they can be picked up? Again, I didn't get any email so I am a bit out of the loop.

You should have gotten one in your member allotment and could have ordered up to 2 more on the Beer Temple website back when they went on sale. You would need to pick them up from the Beer Temple.

I never got an email from Transient so I am assuming I can still get that. I went through the Beer Temple pre-sale just today and got it. Assuming they are ready then for pickup?

Any IL members seen their renewal invoices yet? Got the members email from Chris ~2 weeks ago that they would be coming out shortly, heard that the MI invoices went out right after that, but haven't seen anything since then for IL?

I had Kentuckley at a draft event in Chicago a few months ago; that blew me away. Jealous of you folks with bottles....

I'm a member of both and have yet to receive an invoice for either.

Haven't opened a Kentuckley yet, but I plan too. Juice is loose reminds me a lot of Green. Absolutely superb.
