Especially two-person businesses where the person updating the shop is also chasing a one-year-old around.

Haha I was about to say the same thing. That Emily basically has two full time jobs to juggle: Beer and baby

Off-topic, since I know we're all frantically refreshing the website but also reading here:

When the party comes up, I intend to book a car Saturday morning, drive up to the Hudson Valley, etc, check out a ton of breweries there, stay somewhere nearby, then Sunday, go to the party, and then drive back that night.

Question: What other breweries should I make sure to hit Saturday?

Mill House in Poughkeepsie is good (and their food is terrific).

I don't know when Suarez family brewery opens, and I haven't been there yet, but they and Sloop are both a little further North. If you have lots of time Saturday they might be worth a trip.

If you are driving up route 9, there's a tiny place called North River Hops & Brewing that's basically just a tiny bar with typically 10 or so beers on tap; they have some interesting stuff.

There are also a few beer bars in Poughkeepsie, others in Beacon, and some other good places across the river; depending on your route and schedule you might be able to hit Captain Lawrence or Peekskill on your way up (or maybe even Newburgh).

On your drive up hit Rushing Duck in Chester and either Peekskill or Newburgh Brewery after that. Hit Suarez for sure which is very near Sloop and worth a visit. Both are north of Plan Bee on the same side of the river. Those are the best in the area.

I'm not a huge Newburgh fan, but they have a few good beers and the taproom is pretty awesome. Get the poutine at Peekskill.

Suarez is officially open on W, Th, Fr, and Sats. Last I heard they weren't filling growlers, but that is likely to change very soon.

Did bottles of the new Bouquet come and go or just still delayed?

At this point I hope they reschedule and announce when they're going to put it in the store.

Agreed. I'll be commuting soon and don't want to miss this release because there is no reception in the subway system

Edit: Yay release delayed until tomorrow 3pm

Unless you can hit one in each direction, Peekskill and Newburgh would be a pain in the ass to do together. You could definitely do Rushing Duck and Newburgh though -- RD probably only makes sense if you're talking the Thruway and probably means you're talking a pretty long route to Poughkeepsie. You might be able to combine Peekskill with Captain Lawrence, there are also some smaller breweries like Yonkers. If you use the "places" feature on BA, or search the forums, you'll find tons of useful advice.

I'd almost be willing to bet that when Emily realized she missed the release time, she checked this thread and ran with your suggestion.

Ditto for me, although if I can time it right I'll be making a stop at my favorite bottle shop and can try and order from there.

One of my first Plan Bee orders I did on my phone while on a layover. Not sure if that's something y'all can swing or not, but I know it's doable in a pinch.
