Funk Factory Guezeria

Funk Factory's physical location is not usually open to the public. They do some parties and tastings here and there, but for the most part the building is used to house beer patiently aging in barrels. Their beer sales are usually done through Brown Paper Tickets with a pick up at O'so Brewing in Plover, WI. From what I know they hope to change that sometime in the future, but for now FF in not a very visitable destination.

 

His bottle releases are going to be NUTS if he gets to the point where he can host them in Madison.

 

Be warned- it's commanding huge beers via trade.

 

Not for all of their beers. You can get Door Kriekand & Fox and the Grapes much easier than many of the others.

 

Door Kriek was a low limit release, so it's one of the harder ones to get since supply is low. It's probably on the level of something limited from SARA, de Garde, or Side Project.
"That one review" didn't speak too nicely about Fox & Grapes, so the shit storm threw that one out of the picture.

 

Must just have been me, then. I had no problem getting Door Kriek rather easily.

 

Or come into town for Madison Craft Beer Week and/or Great Taste of the Midwest – IIRC there've been opportunities to try FF beers around both of those events recently. And there could possibly be a beer or two from a few other breweries worth trying around that time as well. :-)

 

Door Kriek wasn't just a brewery release – unlike most recent FF bottles, it saw (limited) distribution.

 

Bottles were sold on BPT, but the pick-up has not yet occurred.

 

You can buy a bottle of Door Kriek at Gibs for $60....even for a bar 3x markup is a bit steep though.

 

When is this trip and when will you be going through Madison?

 

No it didn't. It sold out in 60 seconds on BPT

 

As stated in here, we don't have a tap room and aren't normally open to the public. I'm gone next week, but depending on the time of day on Monday, I might be at the Geuzeria where you could pop in and see the space. TBH, it's just a barrel house, so don't get too excited.

 

My brother and I will be in Madison all week next week for the Amateur World Disc Golf Tournament. If you wanna try some Funk Factory beers I got nothing going on so far on Thursday and if you have a bit of time to kill I wouldn't mind sharing a bottle or two with you. BM if your interested.
