1 per should make it easier to get.

I'll likely be there as well. Hell, it's just a couple of blocks away! I just received my confirmation of crotchitude this week as well, so if you need to borrow my LifeAlert I may be open to sharing...

But some other people honestly think that having to wait in long lines on a specific day and time just to have a shot at some rare beer is stupid. Short of producing a supply that would exceed the demand (and of course this wasn't really possible), Fremont has, IMHO, done the next best and most utilitarian thing by making this beer available in a variety of ways. Those who love lines and "Epic BS" (however you define it) can have a blast on Saturday; those who don't will have their chances in the weeks to come. I only wish I could say the same for other limited releases...

And @WA_Brian is right: strict bottle limits typically make beers easier to get, unless you're a hoarder (and even then they can still help you, theoretically, provided you're an industrious hoarder).

I understand where Glen is coming from, and while his points are well taken, this is my philosophy as well.

I like having the opportunity to try as many limited release, highly regarded beers as possible, and in most instances, I'd never get the chance to try them if there wasn't at least some limited distribution. Over the years, that's allowed me to try CBS, various Dark Lord variations, PTY, various splinter releases, etc., only because the beers saw at least some limited distribution. Outside of the occasional bottle share, I would never have gotten to try them otherwise. The only other way to obtain these beers is through trades, and I'm just not into it (I do some limited trading with friends, but that's it).

Also, in my experience, having a brewery only release seems to completely shift the consumer demographic, and I'm not sure in a good way. The sort of folks who are able and willing to spend hours (and sometimes days) in line to get a limited release beer, and who bring a herd of mules along to stand in line with them, are pretty different from most of the folks I know who love craft beer. I sometimes wonder how many of them actually care anything about the beer they're obtaining, except as some sort of bragging right or trade commodity.

I know there's two sides to this argument, and I definitely get where Glen is coming from, but at least for me, I'm definitely in the camp that prefers to see a beer like Rusty Nail see at least some limited distribution.

I happen to be in Seattle for vacation and am considering trying to grab bottles of this tomorrow. Trying to decide how early I may need to get in line or how long releases typically last at the brewery. Considering the brewery has 50 cases, any ideas? Wasn't sure of typical demand etc. Any help is appreciated!!!

All bets are off for tomorrow. No idea how mad it will be or how long it will last. Rest assured though it won't be as bad as back East.

In case you didn't read the whole thread, you'll increase your chances if you a.) come dressed as a hobo; b.) happen to be elderly; and/or c.) can mimic the call of a majestic heron. If all 3 apply, you should just come whenever you want, and bring a hand truck.

This all sounds strikingly similar to Cycle releases back home! Armies of homeless mules etc. Only difference is the gator growl that we've all mastered... Thanks!

It's going to be fuckstorm of a shitshow. Go early. Post a Craigslist ad for friends to go with you. Buy all you can. Ship it away to New England. or Old England. Or Zimbabwe. Wherever. Just get it the hell away from us.

Great point and I agree as well. I just think that from my own experience it's much easier to get something at one place instead of calling or driving around all day or week to see if a place will get something. I hate long lines as well but I hate running around chasing beer. It is what it is though. I'm hoping those who want this can get it.

I'll be there with kids in tow. Free soda at 11 for the little ones, right?

I'm not camping out, I'll head over at a reasonable time before opening and if I get some, great. If not, then fuck we've become a bunch of FIBs.

Uh-oh. Apparently this beer has now trespassed onto someone's mowable greenery.

I've had a rough couple of days these last couple. I'm just in no damn mood. Probably shouldn't even be on the intratoobz. Apologies.

What, and deny us the beauty of "fuckstorm of a shitshow"? The very idea...

You had me right up to here. We cannot go dumping our First World problems onto those of the Third. They already have it tough enough. :slight_frown:

As for yourself, chin up. This rough patch of yours surely won't last forever, and maybe getting off the Intertubes will speed its passage. There's a whole other world out there--beautiful, challenging, precarious, better.

Oy! I can get there at open but if I have to get there at daybreak to secure bottles with my Father's Day gift certificate, I'll have to spend it another time. Cheers and I'll see y'all tomorrow.

I'll camp out at the exit after the line starts to move.

I'm bringing Kokanee as trade bait.
