Personally EYE would drink it. What's the sense in having it if you won't taste it?

For your situation, I'd get another one.

Remove the cap very carefully, drink the contents, replace with water, recap and put it on the mantle.

Not drinking it at all is not an option, unless you're planning to give it to someone who will.
What's the point of having a beer if you aren't going to drink it?

Drink it and keep the empty bottle and recap is what I'd do.

Once you take it out of the package it loses its value.

It's 6.5% no need to store those contents.

Well, given that it's Rogue, he might be better off not drinking it.

    Again, facetious?
This might be true w/ baseball cards or collectible coins or toys. But it's a sad day when a beer's value is found in its packaging, and not the beer itself. Yes, even if it's a Rogue.

Dude. Drink it. It's meant to be drank, not started at on a mantle. I spoke to John Maier and he said he was totally cool with you drinking it as long as you share it with a close friend. [not really]

    Drink it, it's only beer.

But this beer is a minnow.

There's a reason they have had it on their website for a month and haven't sold out. Leading cause is that it is, in fact, a beer that Rogue made.

Signing bottles is even more nefarious. When I see a signed bottle in a liquor store I know that the liquid inside is most likely a gimmick and needed that signature to move any product. Stone Greg didn't need to sign every bottle of Stone 10th Anniversary to make that beer a resounding success, the contents inside should speak for themselves.

I see so many people who dislike Rogue, and gentlemen I can understand the dislike and where you come from, but could you honestly say that to the brewmaster of the brewery of your dischord, and then when someone bashes YOUR favorite brewery how WILL you react? Big questions gentlemen and ladies, and one that humbles us.

Definitely don't drink it. I mean seriously, who consumes beer? Weird.

lol. contrary to the first suggestion, i figured MOUTH would drink it.

then again, as mentioned, it is Rogue. . . so who knows, maybe "EYE" is correct. :grinning:

I've criticized beer to brewery representatives before and I wouldn't hesitate from telling a Rogue brewer that pretty much everything I've ever had from them has been somewhere between mediocre and indescribably awful. Maybe they make good stuff, I'll never know because I don't want to flush any more money down the drain on gambles with their stuff.

As for the second, why would I ever care what someone else thinks about the beer I like?

If the Rogue brewmaster had been in the room when I drank that $14 bottle of Voodoo Maple Bacon Doughnut swill, I'd have bashed my collectible Pepto-Bismol pink bottle over his head.

Otherwise though, yeah, I see your point. BAs are a very tough crowd to please and it's easy to slam a brewery or beer from the detached comfort of a keyboard.
