This one just seemed appropriate . . .



An IPA in the milder style presenting with malt, hops and citrus all in balance. By balance I mean three distinct flavor sensations that run along parallel tracks rather than being layered on each another. Interesting combinations working in harmony. Very likable stuff.

Adroit Theory Black as your Soul aged in Cab barrels. Huge thanks to @cjgiant for this bottle, gifted to me yesterday during a very fun meet-up/share. :-)
I've had the base beer once before & enjoyed it immensely, though I can firmly state that in terms of depth alone - this variant is quite superior. Pleasantly sharp notes of candied berries & jam play off of a subtle roasted character on the nose & continue diligently on to the palate. In addition, semi-sweet chocolate comes into play & creates the perfect bridge between the lighter & darker flavor characteristics. The Cab barrels really brought another dimension to an already stellar brew. :-)

This giant is anything but nimble! very tasty, but i feel it would have been better at 8% than 9%



But this one is phenomenal!
Vacation starting tonight so there will be many good beers going down this week in the forests and by the pool!
super stoked for some fresh mountain air!

-a light and crisp start

 

Starting the week off with a bang after a morning trip to the vet with the senior dog. She had a nasty ear infection that has been successfully treated. They also prescribed some arthritis meds to see if it helps when she's having a slow day. Sometimes the puppy and her high level of energy wears us both out!

Another sunny and hot one on tap today. I'm just going to enjoy my beer and the warm breeze with my mutts in the comfort of the shady yard while catching up on yesterday's posts. Have a great week!
