    Hmmm... Tempting, very very tempting.

If only I knew that many mules. And I work for a federal agency, where you kind of would think they'd be a dime a dozen.

You made a couple excellent points to start your post, but this last bit strikes me as something of a straw man. There are some people--perfectly valid and respectable sorts--who simply wish to have a bottle, or two, to be enjoyed in a venue, at a time, under the conditions, and in the company of their choosing. Their lives will not crumble if they are not successful in this quest, but that is their hope, and it's a legitimate one.

Of course it's wonderful that the beer is still going strong on tap at the UBG 4 days after the release. Surely a handful of kegs will appear in various locations for special events down the road. That is indeed a credit to Fremont, as it has given, and will give, many the chance to simply try it. But those who wish to acquire a very special bottle for a very special occasion, or to experience it in an environment where they know they'll appreciate it most (and don't see the UBG as that), or to age it in the belief that that will allow it to reach its fullest potential, should not be so casually dismissed.

Anyway, no disrespect, but don't you have a current trade ISO of Rusty posted right now? Would it be wrong to assume, based on this, you also have a very reasonable and legitimate interest in acquiring a bottle yourself? Or is yours the insatiable desire you gainsay?

Indeed. My post is largely self reflection. Lest I be perceived as a preachy a-hole

Must be one of the advantages of living in the Seattle area. I assure you, year-round KDS is not a thing on the other side of the state.

Yep, a couple sales on My Beer Collectibles to the tune of $120 per bottle. I mean, I had it on draft last Saturday, and it was delicious, but certainly not $120-delicious. Meanwhile, as someone that lives within walking distance of the friggin' source, I still can't find a bottle anywhere... Keep striking out in distro, which so far is seemingly even more nutz than the release day itself (I also suspect that some of the very same people that were shithoarding at the release are now hittin' the local shops and grocery stores too...).

Well, if stores got only 12 bottles, that doesn't give you a very good chance of snagging one.

Can we at least agree not to use the phrase "organized muling groups" in the NW forum, and maybe also ask @John_M to redact it from existing posts (mine included)? I'm just not sure we want to give anyone any ideas if they're not already familiar with this concept (I wasn't).

BTW I previously neglected to thank and congratulate @Texwild and his entire crew for a fantastic beer and a successful release. While I'm sure they're both thrilled and humbled by the enormous growth they've experienced in just 7 short years, I'm sure it also must be quite the rollercoaster ride.

Im with ya. I have a small cellar of about 25 bottles and I like to drink at home, during holidays, special occasions, and not always at the bar. My comment was more tongue-in-cheeck and directed towards the crowd that collects and trades beer (and shows off their bottle collection) versus those of us that actually drink it and enjoy it.

Rusty Nail includes smoked malt? Crud. The needle in my brain just moved from, "I'd love to try this" up to "I need to try this."

Sounds like there was a line outside Bottleworks this morning for Rusty Nail.

Wonder how many were folks who already got their share at the brewery...
Speaking of which, anyone know if it's still on tap?

@Texwild - do you have any idea if there will be some locations getting more than a case or 2? Hoping I can have a family member track down a bottle for me but if bottle shops are only getting 1-2 cases i doubt my dad or brother in law will be able to get there in time as it sounds like bottleworks sold out quickly. Thank you!

PCC and Whole Foods are also sold out. Best bet is probably something more out of the way.

I called a few places today and they said they haven't gotten it yet but were thinking later this week. I'm only in town until tomorrow morning so I was hoping to score a bottle (or 10...mwahahaha) but it doesn't look good.

(not actually looking to buy 10 bottles )
