This is from last year. Do/did you work on the permits for these festivals? Have you spoken to her personally about these 2 festivals? Do you have any evidence, that the public is unaware of, to present to support your point of view? To me, it just seems like you're crying over somebody else's spilled milk, but you don't really know who spilled it in the first place.

Leading up to the Mountain Brew Festival, I read several indications/was sent emails informing that they weren't selling enough tickets for them to hold the festival last year and they were thinking of cancelling because of that as well. If you don't sell enough tickets, then the nonprofit won't make any money to create a positive impact, but instead have to pay for people to have a good time at a beer festival, with no benefit to their organization or the environment.

The facts are that permitting a festival like this is a very law intensive process, no matter what state you're in, and if you don't do it properly, you won't be able to have your festival properly. I spoke with the district supervisor about Burning Can and she wasn't some Gestapo festival assassin, she simply has to enforce the laws as they are written. If you apply for the wrong permit, because of a mistake or because you don't understand the permit process, then you can't legally have that festival...pretty simple and straight forward. If you don't apply for a permit to have out of state breweries participate, then you can't have them participate...pretty simple and straight forward. The proper permits exist and there is a process to have that sort of festival, like the Funkatorium Invitational, Brewgrass or any of the multiple other festivals in the district, so it doesn't seem that there is some motivation to suppress beer festivals from this evidence. When talking to her, she discussed how important craft beer, and its economical impact, has on the area and has no motivation to suppress that...but its her job to enforce the law as its written, not as she sees fit. Don't kill the messenger...focus your disdain towards those organizing the festivals that don't take the time or effort to fully understand the permitting process, and then apply for the wrong permits. It seems OB has figured out their permitting issues and having Burning Can this year, so why couldn't Mountain Brew Fest do the same???

She made it clear to me that alcohol/festivals are not an issue and right now their focus in the department is to fight the terrible pain pill problem in the area and the cheap heroin epidemic that is following it from those that can't get their pills.

it sounds weird but I have found the chinese rice porridge, (congee) works pretty awesome, very simple high fluid content, my new comfort food after destroying myself with sours all night. But I can try Biscuithead :stuck_out_tongue:
