I've heard how hard it is to get this beer. I found a local grocer with several for just over $8 for singles. Would the common recommendation be to scoop these up at this price?

    I'd buy it at $8 a bottle.

That is the cheapest I have ever heard it being.

It's almost worth it at that price.

If you like be able to sip on one 12oz beer & get a buzz doing it...I'd say it's worth your money. I enjoy big beers, so I'd jump on it.

That is cheap for 120, lowest I have ever saw it was $9.99, personally I hate the stuff, but everytime we get it at the store it sells very quickly.

I would stock up for sure - they sell out real fast. When I was visiting MA (as opposed to HI where I live where they never have it) I visited a couple liquor stores that had received the beer that week and they were all already sold out! Also, it's one of my favorite beers.

$8 is well worth it! It would not be worth it for $10 a bottle, like normal, unless you have never had it before!

I bought 2 bottles at $9.99 each. I drank one and I just did not get it - at all. So the other bottle ages...and improves...I hope. DFH 75 it ain't.

If you've never had this beer, you're better off plucking than scooping.

I had it on tap once and it was amazing but could never enjoy more than the 4oz pour for 3 bucks. Total would have been 9 on tap so 8 is a steal.

But consider it's in a bottle might change that. I hear mixed opinions on bottles. Whats the bottle on date?

I agree with everyone else here, at that price, scoop some up - that's a darn good deal. It's going to age really well so try some now and cellar the rest.

It's a great beer to share and everyone should experience it at least once. And at $8, $9 or $10, does it really matter? The fact that it generates so much love and hate makes it a must try.

If you haven't had this beer then don't buy a bunch of bottles. I've has it 3 times and I think that is enough for my lifetime.

120 is a strange animal. There is nothing else to compare it to in my opinion and feel it gets unfairly judged. Not saying people don't have the right to dislike it but this is a huge abv age-able beer, and I think people judge it along with other garden variety DIPAs and/or Barley Wines.

That said if you've never had it buy one to try. If you like it, buy a bunch as that's about $2 off retail per bottle.

Anybody had this with some age on it? I've only had it fairly fresh but have a bottle I've been holding. Just wondering what to expect...

I had a 2-year old bottle once, and it tasted like a delicious barleywine.
