Looking for some advice as to when/if I should note a member as a bad trader. Here is some background.

Negotiations began on June 30th and continued for a few days. Communication was pretty good during this negotiation phase. We ended up coming to an agreement on July 4th and we both agreed that we would ship out on Tuesday, July 5th. Also sent a trade request. We exchanged information and I sent my end of the deal on the 5th and provided this member with tracking info.

I did not hear back from him until July 7th and stated that he received my package but hasn't sent mine yet. He noted that one of the bottles we agreed on was at a friends house and that he should have an update over the weekend and that I should receive my package no later than wednesday.

I sent a couple of messages and didn't get a reply until the 11th, he accepted the trade request as well on this day but not other communication about his end of the trade.

I sent another message yesterday evening noting that i didn't get the package. No reply as of yet.

As noted before, communication was great during negotiations, but once we came to an agreement and exchange info, communication has been scarce at best. Just looking for some suggestions. Thanks!

I think it could be a little early to out him in a bad trader thread, but if he has been ignoring your messages, that's not good. Are you able to see if he's been online and read your last message? Definitely sounds like he's had poor communication since the trade was agreed upon and that always makes me nervous as well.

Also, it sounds like you shipped before he formally accepted the trade request, is that correct? He might have waited to get the bottle in hand before he accepted the trade request. Would definitely like to hear his side of the story and certainly hope he didn't drink any of the beer you sent him since you have not received your package yet.

Correct, I did ship before he formally accepted. I'm not able to tell if he's been online but the last time he read a message from me was Monday I believe. Waiting to his side as well

I think it is worth another message to him. Advise him you will be starting a bad trader thread unless he starts communicating better.

If he was waiting to get the bottles in hand then he shouldn't have agreed to ship on 7/5. I'm assuming he never told you before you shipped that "I need to grab a bottle from a friend"? Although it's only been 9 day's past the agreed upon ship date (looks like shipping only takes 2 days), I would be worried. If he has been viewing your messages but not responding then I would tag him to this thread and hopefully it help gets your trade resolved.

Agreed - That would have been a red flag for me right away if he agreed to ship on a certain date and then said the he had to get the bottle from a friend's house. OP at least now has an agreed upon trade and he can leave negative feedback if it's warranted, even though the trader in question didn't accept the trade request until after he received the OP's package.

Sent him this exact message you suggested last night. Still nothing yet.

The odd thing is that this person has nice number of trades under his belt and all extremely positive. One as recent as last week

You are correct, he never told me that he "needed to grab a bottle from a friend". I can't see if he has been reading my messages or not, but his last communication was on Monday simply stating that "he didn't see the trade request" and that he would accept it. Definitely a bit worried.

Do you think it is appropriate for me to tag him at this point or give it a few more days to see if he responds?

Just so I got this straight....he's got a number of trades under his belt, but didn't see the trade request *alert* that is plain as daylight at the top of the page? It surely is not their first rodeo....hmmmm. Obviously they have accepted the trade request before and knows how this works, right?? They are also ignoring your messages, while your box of beer is sitting in their fridge or cellar, or consumed.

Well, if you want to get the ball rolling, I'd leave them *negative* feedback right now. That should be plenty of incentive to finish the trade.
You can edit your feedback left after you get your beers. I'm also gonna go out on a limb and say you are never gonna trade with this person again, so leaving negative feedback now isn't going to change your trade relationship down the road.

Got it, last time he read the conversation was Monday afternoon. So he is either purposefully ignoring the messages or simply not logging on. I can't see the last time he was online.

Moved thread out of bad trader forum as a bad trader name hasn't been tagged yet.

    @dszok

Its certainly your call, but if I'm the coach and your on my team...I'm sending in an audible to *out" this BA, so we can tag him as a *Bad Trader* for everyone to see and move this back to the proper forum...you know, the *Bad Trader* forum. Just sayin'. You are really not doing anyone, including yourself any favors by not posting their name. If you have to start a thread seeking *advice* on a trade gone bad, then it's probably a sign to out the trader.

Nothing personal, but I actually lose some respect for people who skate around not naming the *Bad Trader*.
