I was kinda hooked on them but I
am not hooked on them now. I am
    more into session IPAs.

    You still hooked?

Never was hooked on IPAs. Have enjoyed them since my first but in no way has that limited my enjoyment or consumption of several other styles. I've tried several of them but then they are more easily found than a good German style Pils beer, a tasty Dopplebock or a Belgian Strong Pale Ale.

I predict a lot of people will take the time to post in this thread declaring that they're more interested in obscure beer styles, because thats the cool thing to do. And I wish I could be cool and say that I prefer maibock over a juicy IPA, but alas, Im a sucker. Hop fanboy 4 lyfe.

    Yes.

IPAs make up about 90% of the beers I drink. I love a good stout, saison, pilsner, kolsch, wild ale, etc., but nothing hits the spot quite like a New England-style IPA.

    Yep.
I haven't run into a style yet that I don't like (unless AAL counts), but I find myself drinking IPAs much of the time, & getting more enjoyment out of them, than most other styles. Goses/sours are the ones on par with IPAs, for most enjoyment, for me.

OP, I'm just glad the poll wasn't "Are you still hooked on turbid IPAs?". I enjoy IPAs. Am I hooked? I suppose so. I enjoy trying different IPAs certainly. However, I also enjoy & appreciate many other styles too. I suppose I'm hooked on beer in general covering most every style. My concern is if people are limiting themselves to drinking IPAs only. If this is the case they are missing out on so many good beers. Well, their loss unfortunately.

A session IPA is still an IPA dude. Either way, yes I'm still hooked on them and I will thoroughly enjoy every IPA that I'll get out of this kingdom of New England.

Definitely. It's funny, I had no clue what an IPA was in college years ago, but shortly after graduating it's the main style I drink these days.

    still hooked, bad

at first i hated IPAs, only over time did i start to appreciate and truly love them. i go thru phases where i don't really want them (altho those phases coincide with lack of beer interest and i drink bourbon instead).

BUT for me, there is nothing better than seeing a fridge full of bomb ass IPAs and DIPAs. love seeing the 077XX and Shape of Hops to Come in my fridge right now.

personally, my phases of disinterest with IPAs are not exclusive to IPAs. I lose interest in reading, homebrewing, FIFA, Destiny, running, and favorite TV series every once in a while too. Generally speaking I love those things but at times I lose interest and go away from them, only to have a strong urge to pursue them again.

    as of now, strongly hooked

I guess am still hooked. It is my favorite style, I love IPAs. I have become more appreciative of stouts, sours and goses, but still put the IPAS at my top of the list !!

I'm not up for bitterness for the sake of bitterness, which some IPAs seem to be all about (based on their names, advertising, and sky high IBU rating). I have had some that were OK, generally those with lower IBU and/or balance with malt. I know a lot of folks love them, but I just haven't gained an appreciation for the style.

Still the majority of what I drink, but that % has been shrinking over time. I really love variety and trying new things.

I've never been "hooked" on IPAs. I go in phases (usually seasons, too). Sometimes I like drinking them a lot, sometimes I don't. I am currently into dopplebocks, kolsch, Munich dark lagers, sours, and maibocks. I live in South Korea and IPAs are still few and far between (although some American craft beers are beginning to pop up in large box stores here; $8 for a 330 ml/12 oz. bottle!). They also have a few Korean craft breweries trying to make American style IPAs. Anyway, German imported beers are widely available here, so I am loving these right now! Cheers

If preferring a maibock to an IPA is cool, then consider me Miles Davis.
