Slammed a bunch of them in 90 minutes on a train? This sounds like you were headed back to Hamsterdam from Safeco after a Mariners loss! Certainly they've moved me to drink to excess on occasion...

This. I suspect it's pretty widespread in the Seattle area as well.

Oh, it was worse than that. I had gone to the opening of a friends new brewery in Edmonds. Drank a bunch at the brewery, caught the ferry across to go to another brewery, stopped at restaurant to eat, rode the ferry back across, went back to the brewery to wait for the train. My friend had told me before opening that he built his brewery "within crawling distance of the train". I almost had to crawl to the train back. Seemed like a good idea to nurse the last Black Butte Porter that they had onboard during the ride home. Then, Canadians and Kokanees. At least 6. That had to have been a 20 beer day for me. And, I brought back a bunch of bottles from Hood Canal Brewery. Jesus, was I drunk by the time I got back to the 'Ham.

Back when I used to buy shit beer in large quantities for "low-impact" drinking I bought a helluva lotta Kokanee. I later switched up to Rainier or Oly, as it was similar beer but without the extra $ for being an import. I still occasionally grab an Oly when slumming in a bar, but I don't think I've brought any of that type of beer home for mass consumption purposes for a couple years now. Probably a portion of the reason why I no longer weigh about 300lbs (though "waist-creep" is beginning to occur once again).

That sounds like a pretty epic night. How the hell did you get home from the train station? Or did you pass the night with the hobos and some lukewarm Coors Light?

The WTA 401 bus runs from the transportation terminal in Fairhaven to within a block and a half of the apartment I was in at the time. Sadly though, that last 1.5 blocks was uphill. Ugh.:slight_frown::flushed:

Didn't another brewery buy Hood Canal Brewing? I wanna say Port Townsend but I could well be wrong. I only ever had HC's IPA, which I recall as being decent but nothing to rave about, either.

Not that I know of, just top of head. I especially don't think PTB did. I remember really liking the Dabob Bay IPA from HC about 10 years ago.
