Okay so I brewed my first ever brew, a one gallon batch of pumpkin ale. These are pictures from right after transfer on Friday the 15th at 10pm to now Monday the 18th at 8pm. So right at around 72 hours. Temp ranges from 66 to 68°F. But I'm wonder is that much kruesen normal?

    After racking.

Yes, when the yeast are happy they show it.

Very normal. Stop looking at your beer so much and carry on. If you can, go at least a week.

I'm going to, predict that your second, third, fourth, etc. brews will look pretty much like these pics. You did it right. Enjoy when it's ready. Just be ready with a blow-off tube if you brew anything with an ABV higher than this one. The krausen almost reached your airlock which is something that you want to avoid. If you aren't familiar with the term blow-off tube, google it so that you can be ready when necessary.

Thank you all for the quick responses! I have seen pictures of good fermentation before but what I had going just seemed a little different! Probably gonna put a blow off tune on it tonight. This brew had an OG of 1055. I'll update in a week or so. Thanks again! -mitchmoore12

Looks great! The hardest part for me is patience and letting the beer "clean up" by sitting on the yeast just a bit more after you reach FG.

    UPDATE!

    OG 1.052
    FG 1.011
    ABV 5.6%

From grain to glass 8 days, and it didn't even taste half bad. In fact it was pretty good! Tasted very similar to Blue Moon's Gingerbread Spiced Ale. (Probably due to the fact that it has plenty of all spice in it and so does this NB smashing pumpkin kit) I put almost all of it into bottles to age for a few weeks and about 12oz into my 1.75 gallon mini keg to force carb. Made me y'all a little video if you'd care to watch! - Mitchmoore12

I like that you went back for that last little half sip from your glass. Your beer should clear up with a little more time, but you'll have to pour carefully from the bottles to leave the sediment behind. Nice job, Mitch! Enjoy your beer even if it isn't even close to Halloween.

Adding fining agents to your boil, cold crashing, and bottle conditioning are great ways to bump the clarity up. Either way clarity isn't that big of a deal to me as long as it's tasty. Looks like you have a pretty yummy beer there.

    Cheers!
