I believe this one would qualify as a "venti" at Starbucks. And I probably would have paid the same amount there as I did for this beer.

If you like Blue October or Longwave, you should check out this band.

    Happy midpoint, advocates!

As I predicted in a BA thread last spring, my summer consist in sipping beers in the afternoon and watching the tour de France. Today should be an interesting stage in Switzerland, tune in to ESPN

    Anyway, time for Chimay.

I am scheming while daydreaming =)

Well I have just enough of everything to make nothing. I have no fresh herbs, a trout fillet, a half a peach and some bell pepper. fresh broccoli and corn. The heat wave is about to return and I think I'll start with this . . .

    Cheers everyone!

Good morning BAs! Well, they changed IMGUR again so I'll spend the next several days trying to figure how to use it. Until then, maybe no images.

Today's breakfast beer - Leinenkugel's BierGarten Tart. No longer drinking, now cleaning the drain with it.

Hello, Advocates! I've been away and busy, but I'm going to take a second to drop in from Glasgow. I've been busier than I can freely discuss, but I'm enjoying a day off, as well as a Mikkeller George.

I've also done a touch of bottle shopping, as you can see.

Funny thing about KBS: I missed out this year due to what I'll call business obligations. Yet, here in Glasgow, a bottle shop had tons sitting on the shelves! I scooped up one for now, and one for later.

Anyway, that's all for now, BAs. I miss the friendship and camaraderie, but I'll be back more permanently before too long.

    Cheers!

@utopiajane, Ithaca? I once drove by Albany on my way from NYC to Canada. Not exactly close but enjoyed the ride. Some people consider upstate NY as ''dismal''. Granted, Albany wasn't exciting but I heard good things about Rochester. Cheers.

2015 Hopslam... (or should I say just a potent barleywine at this point) Definitely not even close to the same, but still a relatively enjoyable sipper...

Ithaca is far from dismal except for a little bit int he winter time over these last years. Else you would see striking and majestic sights of things covered in lots and lots of snow. it is one of the most strikingly pretty places. The people are all wierd and they like it. The hills, the gorges, waterfalls and everywhere you turn is some kind of art. Rochester is also very scenic.

    Morning Ladies and Gents,

One of the rare postings of a once daily poster, (should be daily again in 6 weeks but things have been crazy).
Had this one in the fridge a little over a week and decided it was time. This one is Mcauslan's yearly Barrel collection beer. This year it being a Barrel aged imperial porter, The nose is filled with beautiful roasty malts oak and bourbon. Should be good! Cheers!

Found this one worth the visit . . .

Appearance: Hazy yellow, white cap, some lacing.

Aroma: Pretty good in a piney, spicy, citrusy, floral hop sort of way. Refreshing malt undercurrent.

Taste: Malt on entry with hops appearing mid palate. Rather a mild flavor with good interplay between malt and hops. I can see how this might be favored by those stepping up from AALs but except for hops it's not a big jump. More experienced beer fanciers may find this a bit bland. Clean finish with little aftertaste.

    Texture: Medium

Overall: Not as in your face as some IPAs, hop forward of course but malt is present and well integrated with the hops. Not a complex beer but a cut above ordinary none the less.

I would entirely disagree with anyone who think upstate NY is Dismal, I mean I know there is a misconception from people who live south of new york city that its a baron waste land of sorts where barely anyone live but theres a fair sized minority who think that Canadians live in Igloos and ride dog sleds... Google Tucker Carleson Canada! XD. Just as in Southern Ontario and south western Quebec Upstate NY is filled with numerous towns and small cities with exciting histories all their own, many of which span back to the beginning of colonization.

Also the Adirondacks are absolutely stunning

Cheers! Work provide money. I'm sure you'll be back with tons of new brews after the summer. Of course canadians don't live in igloos. Montréal has its share of Victorian house. And the underground city is an awesome place when it gets too damn cold.
