I promise I'm going to try to stay non-political (here) these next few months, but I'll just say this is the perfect brew for watching the RNC and leave it at that.

Closing this place down with one more Saison. Very nice place with a sweet outdoor area.

"His and Hers" and I forgot how good Torpedo really is. Bought a half case (among several other beers) for our annual Christmas in July party on Saturday and being the good host that I am, all purchased beer needs to pass a rigorous sampling process ... er.... "QA Approval Evaluation". :grimacing::sunglasses::stuck_out_tongue:

Sad to hear. That group was my favorite during my teen years to be sure. Felt lucky to grow up in the Golden age of Southern Rock...

Good choice. Whatever game you were thinking of, you'd probably lose(tomorrow), even (especially?) if you "won". ; )

Moving on to a Almanac Emperor Norton, depleting my CO haul at an alarming rate:grimacing: Wish the rental car was bigger, just for that selfish reason...:slight_frown:

Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good Thursday. Traffic was exceptionally shitty today coming home from work for some reason. Still made decent time and was able to get my daily bike exercise allotment. Daily reviews:

Really nice IPA! Hopcat being bottled at Brew Detroit now. Aromas and flavors of big juicy grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, papaya, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with some honey/toasted bread/light caramel malts; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/rind bitterness; medium bodied; balanced sticky/resins and bready Munich malt creaminess in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate dryness; increasing through the glass; eventually hitting some lingering hop astringency at the end of the glass. Nothing too overwhelming, I put this down pretty fast. I was a big fan. Very juicy feeling hops with a great bitterness balance initially. I love Munich malt in IPAs. Citra and Columbus hops, I would guess. Would buy again. 3.9

Strawberry Berliner. Label volume is wrong, this is 330 ml. This was pretty good. Aromas and flavors of lightly tart strawberries, lemon, pear, apple, and light pepper; with wheat, cracker, toasted biscuit malts; and some herbal/grassy hop and yeasty earthiness. Lightly tart/spicy finish; light-medium bodied; some grainy wheat creaminess and light acidity in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate drying finish. Really drinkable and pretty refreshing. Not much of a Berliner, really hardly getting any lactic character; but the yeast fruitiness/malt flavors seemed to be in the right area of expectation. Well balanced strawberry fruit notes; very flavorful for the low ABV. 3.5

Outstanding Baltic porter! Aromas and flavors of big nutty dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, and toasted dark bread; with lighter notes of raisin/plum/currant fruits, vanilla, smoke, and herbal/woody hops. Balanced bittersweet roasted finish with earthy hop character; Medium-full bodied; nice and creamy; with a decent amount of sticky/chalky roast/hop character in the mouthfeel. Lightly drying and insanely smooth. Great coffee presence, but not overpowering; and it absolutely nails the Baltic porter style perfectly. 4.2

    Cheers

This is so smooth it's stupid. The malt is high in this one, but that's neither here or there. Clean as fuck.
