Morning BA's....another toasty warm day here on the North Coast

Went for a sail and swim off the new catamaran yesterday afternoon, and will likely be repeating that program today and tomorrow with temps in the low 90's all weekend....

    Have to stay hydrated!

I haven't posted a morning beer in a while, so I hope this one is sufficient. Anyways, after filling out refund paperwork for my infected '15 BCBS bottles this week (they were definitely 'off', but still drinkable), this should help ease the pain. Cheers!

Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Going to be another hot as hell day today. Probably will go mountain biking, but we will see. I don’t want to get more heat stroke like I did last time it was 90+ degrees. I am ready for it to be autumn already haha. Beer this morning:

A great classic tasting Gose. Flavors of lightly tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, pear, green apple, orange peel, coriander, sea salt, wheat, cracker, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light fruit tartness, citrus peel bitterness, and earthy spice on the finish; very smooth and crisp; with light wheat creaminess and balanced acidity/salinity in the mouthfeel. Light-medium dryness. Medium carb/light-medium bodied. Extremely refreshing! Not as acidic as most of the other American made Gose; but still has a solid amount. Hoping to see a fresher batch around soon, still only seeing January dating; but still delicious as always.

Incredible American porter as usual. Big flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toast, toffee, dark bread, and light smoky malt flavors; with balanced herbal/spicy/citrus peel hop flavors. Moderate herbal/spicy hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Smooth, creamy, and silky mouthfeel; with some hop stickiness as well. Light-moderate dryness. I need to keep this around more than I have been recently. It is always amazing beer.

Always fantastic. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, peach, pineapple, and pine; some honey/bready/light caramel malt; with herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus rind bitterness; sticky/resinous finish with some light grainy creaminess in the mouthfeel. Moderate increasing resin dryness, with zero hop astringency. Tons of classic Centennial/Chinook hop flavors; good supporting malts, but still really dry. Looking forward to trying the new dry hopped version soon. It should still be very similar.

This is the same beer as Art of Darkness they released a few years ago. Great Belgian strong dark ale! Flavors of big raisin, prune, fig, date, cherry, apple, pear, licorice, brown sugar, molasses, peppercorn, clove, chocolate, cocoa, toasted biscuit, dark bread, nuttiness, and light coffee; with some herbal, floral, and grassy hops. Very peppery/spicy finish; medium-high carbonation; creamy mouthfeel with light sticky/chalky roast and hop notes. Good dryness and very drinkable for the ABV. Ommegang rarely disappoints me, I love their house yeast. I need to do a step up starter of bottle dregs, and make a homebrew with it some time.

    Cheers

Forgot how amazing this album was. Been listening to it a ton lately.

One of my top albums for the year for sure.

Just opened the box last night--and now straight to my belly. Good morning.

And, unabashedly--because my two daughters keep asking "what are you doing with beer pictures?" while I try to squeeze in just this one post, this is the soundtrack to my morning.

Already ran 12 miles this morning. My work is done for the weekend. Except I still have to mow in 100 degree Kansas heat and humidity. Better keep it light and refreshing today then.

Wish I had your tasting analysis before drinking Otra Vez last night. I only picked up one as it was my first Gose style, but I could've drank a few more. Maybe five. Cheers!

Good morning BAs! The sun is breaking through here in NW PA and Mrs. Lizard is on a bus load of like-minded quilters in search of more material - whoever dies with the most wins! She's already told her friends who gets what from her stock after she beams out. I, however, continue my quest for those next levels of beerdom - for me (without BK) the next goals are 50 countries and 500 brewers. The 500 brewers will be easy, but after you knock off North America and Europe, it starts getting tight. Any breweries in Andorra, Monaco, and Luxembourg?

    Anyway, today's New Breakfast Beer:

At least this one isn't going down the drain like the last few, before the bottle empties. Not good but drinkable.
