So, I recently had the Allagash Nancy, a sour ale with cherries that had very prevalent notes of cinnamon. It was simply fantastic! Does anyone know any other good Sour ales that have a touch of cinnamon added to them?

I just picked up a 2 bottles of Nancy a few weeks ago. Never had it before but I love Allagash Sours. I'm looking forward to trying it now. Unfortunately I can't think of any other Sours out there that have a cinnamon character. Cheers!

The Rare Barrel Home, Sour Home....

aged in oak barrels with peaches, cinnamon, and vanilla bean.

Like a funky peach pie with cinnamon vanilla ice cream...tasty!

Well, I came here to say Home, Sour Home--it's a sour with actual cinnamon, but it's the vanilla, imho, that melds all the fruit, sour and cinnamon flavors together into a cohesive whole.

I find a lot of Belgian krieks have cinnamon undertones. I have a feeling it's something about the cherries that impart that flavor.

Meh, I had that one, I got little to no cinnamon from that, also very little tartness or sourness.

I did love Home Sour Home...but I also remember thinking "thank goodness the cinnamon doesn't really come through." I can't think of a cinnamon-forward beer I ever really loved, but maybe it's a reaction to one too many spice-in-your-face pumpkin and Xmas beers. 90% of my sours are Belgian, and I can't think of any I've seen with cinnamon.

I'll agree, it's a rather unusual practice, but just try the Allagash Nancy, it will definitely make you rethink the combo of sours and cinnamon.

Cascade's Cranberry has cinnamon added so it has some cinnamon flavors. It's overall pretty mild in terms of sourness and I enjoyed it. The cinnamon is a cool twist. I recently got a bottle of Nancy and haven't drank it yet but I'm looking forward to it and will look for the cinnamon.

Nancy is one of the best sours I've ever had (along with 2-3 other Allagash sours). I don't recall cinnamon notes however. I just grabbed a bottle a few days ago, so I'll be looking to see if I pick up cinnamon notes this time.

Yeah, it's definitely not the most upfront quality of Nancy but its definitely there. It kinda hides behind the upfront tartness of the cherries and other berry notes but lingers very well along with that tartness in the finish.

Is that new? I've never seen not heard of that Boulavard brew and they distribute in my area.

I can't remember ever drinking a sour which specifically had cinnamon added, but I'm big on cherries, so I've tried a lot of cherry beers. I have noticed that every single time a beer with cherries is aged in oak barrels, I can taste a distinctly cinnamon flavor in the brew. I'm curious about how the two relate and why this effect is so predictably true for my palate.

I came into this thread thinking about how disgusting that combination sounded, but the ones mentioned so far actually sound pretty good. I'll be looking out for Nancy.

I totally agree. It's one of the reasons I love LPK, despite the fact that I don't think there is a lick of cinnamon in it.

Paradox Cafe Verdad is a great beer, despite its crazy description. It is a tart, dark farmhouse ale with Mexican Altura coffee & Ceylon Cinnamon, then aged in red wine wine barrels. Lot's going on, but really amazing in my opinion.

Exactly this. I get it a lot more when tart cherries are used. Montmorency cherries especially. Jester Kings's MvB is a great example of this.
