21st Amendment Toaster Pastry. Honestly tastes just as it sounds. The toasty bread and biscuit notes meld with the notes of red fruit (I got raspberries and strawberries) and combine to make a beer that actually comes close to tasting like a strawberry poptart.

McIlhenney's Irish Red from Alpine is one I enjoy, same with Casco Bay Riptide, although they're not very common around my area.

The one that I can get although it's only out around during February/March, that I also enjoy is Conway's Irish from Great Lakes.

Smithwicks is the only one I've had and I thought it was outstanding.

I'll second the suggestions of Great Lakes Conway Irish Red and Smithwicks. Just make sure you learn the correct pronunciation for Smithwicks!!!!

Reds have always been the dumping ground category.

What the hell is this? We will just call it a red ale!

I know there is a second-cousin thing going on with Irish Red and Scotch Ales, but I really like Scotch Ales, and I'm not big on Reds. Is that odd?

GL Conway's is pretty good - and GL does distribute to NY state, so depending on where you are, you should get it there. Another one that was decent was Harpoon's Celtic Ale - again they distribute to NY.

huh, well you'd know better than me - I've only had it in NJ, however it does seem that Harpoon distributes it to NY.
