Missed last month's pickup so I was able to grab my case yesterday. Just noticed I only got one of my two Dandeliasons. I shoulda double checked. Derp :flushed:

Ah man, I was wondering about that. I got two Dandeliaisons instead of one and no Pitz. Did you get an extra Pitz by any chance?

Actually, I'm glad you mentioned that. I ordered three extra Pitz's (GF is a sucker for peaches) and I only have four. I only have one Karnl too, but Evan said he mistakenly grabbed a case of Karnij -- so that one adds up. Not sure if just a miscount by mistake or what, as I presume with Hive I would have gotten two each unless otherwise stated

I've been enjoying getting into my Plan Bee stash this week while on vacation. I had KarnL last night and I was blown away. It tasted absolutely delicious and there's so much cherry flavor in there to savor. I'm a bit surprised viewing other reviews and ratings, but notice that they're all months old. So now I'm wondering what's causing the deviation, whether it be my tastebuds, a different batch, or the same batch aged longer/with more cherries, etc.

    Anyone care to opine?

Karnl has long been my favorite beer from Plan Bee. I had an old bottle, (maybe the first one Evan did) like a year/two years ago and it was sour (quite sour) and delicious. Evan brought a keg of it to the Captain Lawrence Sour'd in Sept event--this one had extra cherries added/unfiltered, so you got pieces of cherry to chew on while you drank it. It was wild. I just tried the new batch this weekend--once again the cherry is just absurd. Barely any carb though, which Evan has told some folks that it should carb up and that it needs some time to develop, like many of the others he's put out on the new system. Not sure how many batches have been made, but all three times I've tried it have had very different experiences.

I got a Pitz mag. Wanted a Precious too, but it sold out while putting in my credit card info. It was nice to see the prices were better than I expected.

Agreed on price--$40 is very reasonable

I tried ordering a magnum each of Royal Jelly, Tree Beer, and Narcissus and when I submitted it got a "We don't have enough of some of your items in stock at the moment. Your order has not been submitted and you have not been charged" message. So I tried deleting one of them (RJ) and got the same message, at which point I decided to go back in and order them one at a time -- I was able to get the RJ and Tree Beer, Narcissus apparently sold out VERY quickly (between the time I added it to my cart and the time I submitted my order).

I've said before some of the flavors are very polarizing. Royal Jelly is one of my favorites (out of about 30-35 I've tried) and it's one of the lowest rated. And Barn Beer, which is very highly rated, is just OK to me. I haven't picked up KarnL yet but loved it last year (but drank it with a few months on it).

FYI - Evan and Emily will be at the Greenmarket this Friday:

This summer, the Greenmarket is celebrating their 40th Anniversary with 3 special events called Union Square Summer Fridays: free evening events at the end of the market day, complete with live music, restaurants selling prepared foods, a beer/wine/cider garden and, of course, our farmers.

These Summer Friday events will take place on June 17th, July 15th, and August 19th. Greenmarket will showcase 4 breweries, 2 cideries and 1 distillery at each event, and they will be selling from 12pm-9pm. Plan Bee will be attending the July 15th Summer Friday where you can sample our products, engage in a conversation about production, and purchase bottles directly at the New York City market.

    Hope to see you there!

Anybody headed to the BBQ and have insight on what the guest kegs might be? or bringing something for a bottle share?

Also, looks like 'Farmstand Ale' will end up being the 3rd and final Hive only bottle of the membership...unless they put it in the shop very very soon.

Evan posted on Instagram etc last week that Farmstand Ale was going to be available at the Farmstand (which I guess pretty much makes sense), and I got the impression that it going to pretty much be their house beer and available all the time? My guess is that they are NOT putting it in the shop (at least not yet) so that they make sure they have enough on hand for visitors.

I'll be heading up to the BBQ, but have no insight into what guest kegs might show up. I'd guess some of their local friends like Suarez or Newburgh, maybe Captain Lawrence.

I'll be bringing a few bottles along to share, though haven't finalized what. Also debating some dessert options I thought would be fun. Trying to decide how much ice I'd need for ice cream to survive the drive up, lol.

I'd bet money Suarez's Pils will be there. I'll be bringing a few things to share as well. I've been holding on to a New Glarus Strawberry Rhubarb and it feels right to open that one at the farm.

I can't wait for the Hive party! I will definitely bring a lawn chair, some snacks, and a couple bottles to share. Maybe I should bring a weber grill and people can bring meats to grill?

Farmstand was available at the farmstand today and tastes absolutely fantastic, I definitely hope it is a continued offering.

I tried Nectar recently and adored it. Where in BK or Midtown (near Penn) is Plan Bee stocked regularly/semi-regularly?

No where. So far they have only been available at special events for a very limited time. You either have to go to their Farm when they are open to the public, be part of the Hive, or go to one of their very irregular Farmers Market appearances somewhere in NYC.
