Split a growler of Dodo Birds with pineapple and hibiscus that a buddy brought back from vacay. Excellent balance, my first brew from them.

Finally back in CA! Beer-wise, this was a pretty disappointing trip in that I didn't have time to reach out to any newbies or even to drink much decent beer. On the bright side, I did fit this small haul of beer into my checked suitcase. Some local NY stuff plus a few perma-wants. Thanks lots for the tips on slack you guys! I managed to pick up a Grimm plus two from Single cut.[IMG]

Turns out my parents live right by a pretty sweet bottle shop. They had more Singlecut than I could take, plus a lot from Barrier and a weekly Grimm delivery (which was limited to one per person but I have many siblings). I'll be back for a week around Christmas and will be more prepared, could even do a LIF!

Just to show you how wacky this NY bottle shop was, here's their selection from Almanac. This is the most Almanac I've ever seen, which means a lot coming from someone who lives within walking distance of the brewery!

Even though I've only been in for one round, celebrating the anniversary still sounds fun to me. I like ideas 2 and 4 best.

What is the date again? I need to prepare my liver!

Haven't done this since 1995-96 but just might have to again. Might also steal that name for my next homebrew.

    Hint #1: Shipping West
Hint #2ish: Update your wants, yo!
Hint #3: No Sufjan Stevens for here (Sufjan Stevens has recorded albums for Michigan and Illinois, but not Wisconsin)
Hint #4: Not shipping to an OG Newberton
Hint #5: Double Check (Aaron Rodgers State Farm Commercial)
    Hint #6: #27 (Eddie Lacy)
Hint #7 (content): Your porch is going to be destroyed by Pizza Boy.

Touchdown in the state of cheese and delicious New Glarus

I like all the ideas. Could even do multiple. Maybe all of them if we spread it out over multiple days.

I was welcomed home by the promised yellow tape from @Doogflaggat. Good thing UPS decided to leave the box by the side door and not my front porch.

Upon unboxing, I was welcomed home by a box full of Pizza Boy and Jackie O's.

Troegs Scratch ??? Label 1/2 missing

    Jackie O's Oil of Aphrodite
    Jackie O's Brick Kiln
    Jackie O's Wood Burner
    Pizza Boy Sunny Side Up
    Pizza Boy Citra Pils

And the bonus Pizza Boy glassware. All are new ticks, can't wait to dive in. @Doogflaggat hit it hard, considering my lack of wants and leaving the choices wide open. Sadly both crowlers were slowly leaking, will hit the worst tonight and the other tomorrow in hopes that they are still good.

My box is packed up and being picked up by UPS tomorrow. Most full box I've ever had to pack. Hopefully she holds up to the 1,900 mile trip from my house to my target (kind of a hint).

After packing everything and taping the box I realized that I left out a little information card about some of the things in the box that I had planned on putting in it. Since I am a supremely lazy man, I did not feel like opening the box back up and retaping it. Therefore, upon confirmation of my package being delivered I will be sending my target a message to explain a couple things about the box

If the crowlers are no good, please let me know. I apologize for that. The half labeled scratch beer (I tried to get the label off and then said screw it) is a homebrew, an imperial stout. The cork and cage wrapped is a sour, while the wax wrapped is a stout. Enjoy!

Finally able to try my first mystery beer:

This is really really good! I taste dark chocolate and a sweet fruity taste, maybe strawberries or raspberries. There is a hint of bourbon barrel, but the fruit taste is much stronger. I love this! What is it? Hmmmm...still working on that.

This mystery fruited stout gets better as it warms up! Based on the other breweries that were included in my box from @jschott75, I have this down to two guesses:

    1) My first guess is Dragon's Milk Reserve with Raspberries. This was available in a 22oz bomber in previous years, and a 12 oz was included in my box. The taste/look seems to match the descriptions on BA pretty well.

    2) My second guess is Lindley Park, which is a major want. Another Olde Hickory beer (Event Horizon) was included in my box, and again the descriptions match. But Dragon's Milk seems more likely because New Holland is closer to @jschott75

    But...my first guess is wrong!!

Wow I cannot believe it! This is awesome. Jim, you hit so many wants, this is crazy! What a great first beer back in CA. Thank you!!
