Sunday mornin' groovin'.

 

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Looks like we will be having a similar day of weather today as yesterday up here.

Tasting insane as usual. Flavors of bright grapefruit, tangerine, mango, pineapple, lemon/orange peel, dank pine, herbal, floral, and grassy hop; with some light caramel/bready malt balance; and a sticky resinous pine/citrus rind dry bitter finish. One of the best batches I’ve had yet, need to get some more in Ohio soon.


World class amazing brown ale. Flavors of nutty roasted coffee, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, brown sugar, toasted brown bread, and light smoke/dark fruit; with some herbal/woody hop and coffee characteristics. Light herbal and roasted coffee bitterness; full-ish body creamy/silky mouthfeel, with some light sticky/chalky roast notes as well. Light roasted dryness. One of the most coffee forward beers I've ever had for sure. Huge on fruity/nutty coffee complexity; and the base brown ale is spot on as well. Need to make sure and get more before it's gone.


3.5 year old bottle. This is tasting incredible! Even better than when I had the same vintage in March last year. Flavors of caramel, toast, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, raisin, plum, cherry, fig, and light leather; with moderate hop notes of grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, and light pine. Light-moderate pine/rind bitterness; full body creamy/silky mouthfeel; with some light hop stickiness and increasing dryness. Super mellowed out now on the hops; pretty much perfectly balanced and not too bitter/resinous. I haven’t had this fresh in quite some time, though (5 years?). Will have to grab a 4 pack next time I am in Ohio again (along with more Yeti of course). Really wish they didn’t pull out of MI, one of my favorite breweries.
