Got an idea in my head for a brand / logo for this Throwback Thursday or Throwback Weekend thread. Kind of a knock off of the Time Tunnel 60s vintage TV series logo. The geezer BAs might know what I'm thinking.

I still have one of those for our vertical. Lotta folks say the anniversary beers from FW don't hold up but I think they do amazingly with careful cellaring. Sounds like you do too.

I was the only one in my group of friends who liked that show. This idea done with your skill is likely to make a great brand/logo. Can't wait to see it, if you decide to do it.

couldn't stop at one ... another New Beer from the JK trip:

Jester King's Snorkel, a beer I know some of you have tasted

I passed up a chance to try Snorkel last year, but I made sure to snag a bottle this time around and like most JK beers, I wish I would've bought four or five.

Snorkel may not be a gose, but it has a lot of gose-like tendencies -- the light yellow color, the itty bitty head of white foam that eats itself away quickly, the salty tart/sour aroma, the salty tart grain flavor. But there is a sweetness in this beer that isn't like any gose I've tried. I can't describe it accurately -- it's like a salty orange at times, a tart apricot at others. Is it those oyster mushrooms? Doing funny things with the other funny things floating in this brew? I don't know, but I like it a lot.

Love seeing the gang putting together another great Sunday roster of new brews and new observations! :grinning:

    Cheers!

I totally dug that show! That's two of us. I'm a sucker for anything time travel. Even that chick flick film that Christipher Reeve and Jane "Something" was in.

If they ever brew that on their big system, let me know, I can probably find something to send ya. BTW, IMHO, 6% is higher than Saisons should be. In typical American fashion, we took a light, easy drinking style, and turned into some deranged monster. Nice to see them dial it back a step.

Hello, once again, New Beer Sunday. So here's my first choice to enjoy for NBS today
    [IMG]
Hell's Half Mile from Tri-City Brewing in Bay City Michigan. I'll be honest, in my hot fair booth, it was delicious, however, overall, it wasn't the best. It tasted somewhat sweet to me, but didn't have much else to offer.

I'm sure, after lunch/dinner, I'll be offering up another new beer.

Dude, I loved that movie! Also the Martin Sheen/Kirk Douglas/ Katherine Ross (Oh, Katherine Ross, sigh)/James Farentino flick Final Countdown. If you haven't seen it, check out The Philadelphia Experiment.

It's drinkable as fuck, with it's dryness really balancing out the otherwise considerable sweetness. Sherrece responded to my fb praise and said she'd be up soon, but I couldn't stay. Next time I see her I'll pick her brain about it and try to lobby for it making a repeat appearance. Sadly, Iron Goat is fairly miserly about letting their non-core beers get growlered
so even if it comes back, it may be brewery-only.

I would really appreciate it if you had a few minutes of your time to throw something together for this idea. I do think I am going to try to make a go of it here in the near future. If you are up for spending a little time on it, I would leave it up to your own discretion on the makeup of a logo. Send me a PM with any thoughts/ideas if you are up for the effort .

    Thank you!

Good afternoon, BAs! I have one new beer today, a remnant from my trip to Asheville a few weeks ago. I've had my eye on this one for a while and Sunday at 5PM seems like the best time to open this "cocktail:"
Old Fashioned Barrel-Aged Ale, Wicked Weed Brewing
    [IMG]

    look: 4 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.5 | feel: 4.5 | overall: 4.5

A nice looking beer with a deep rich mahogany brown color and a modest tan head. The foam settled pretty quickly into a wispy cap with minimal lacing. With my eyes closed it definitely smelled like a classic Old Fashioned, which is one of my favorite cocktails: dark cherry, orange zest, subtle bourbon, and sweet caramel malt. I also picked up some cinnamon and spices. The taste was a bit different. Up front was a rush of rich toffee malt which I would expect from an Old Ale, reminding me of this drink's roots. The malty goodness was almost immediately met with a variety of balanced flavors, including orange, cherries, vanilla, and oak. At the very end, the bourbon made a noticeable entrance with a gentle warming and a slightly acidic exit on the swallow. Full-bodied and rich, but certainly not too sweet. A well-balanced brew and certainly enjoyable! Cheers!

A lot of people who thought Austin Powers only spoofed Bond and the spy genre didn't get the little homage to Time Tunnel...damned kids...dont know what's good for 'em...

Working up to a LNNBS here...just grilled pork chops and asparagus for dinner, but I have to disconnect my gas stove and water supply from da fridge so the new floor can hopefully get started tomorrow morning...I hope... Spent the day chipping the mortar off the subfloor and patching up some weak areas in the horsehair plaster. So to borrow horribly...you can't have your beer until your work is done...how can you have a beer if you don't do your work?

Well, beer >>>>>>>>>>pudding so what do they know anyway.

I believe Brooklyn did an Old Fashion-themed beer (ok, looked it up, yes they did) - did you get a chance to try it? Was a bit pricey around me and I never bit the bullet.

First time with a beer from Berkshire.
Really tasty RIS, jet black color thin tan head and a coffee alcohol smell. Mouth feel is fairly smooth and malty. Chocolate, coffee and malt notes and more sweet than bitter. Over all it a nice beer fairly light for a stout and easy to drink.
