Posted on WBAYDN also. Passed on NYPA, the tap pour I had was disappointing. This is very tasty. Plenty avail.

The batch on tap is pretty old at this point. The cans are a fresh batch, just FYI.

i have to say the can of NYPA i had was incredibly disappointing, i drank it about 5 days after canning and it was no where near as good as it was when jeff was in town or even to the last couple of batches of it not sure what happen with it. use to be the best pale ale out and went toe to toe with double dry hopped fort point

I thought this was killer. Super fresh display of the power hop combo of Mosaic and Citra.

Anyone had amazeballs or higher standard? Wondering if it's worth a trip up from Brooklyn.

I don't agree - never liked NYPA - much preferred Amazeballs (then again Hop Common and Maltballs are my favorites form Peekskill)

Threes in Brooklyn might have some. I had Amazeballs there. Save you the trip.

I loved it but I do think the idea that it was even in the same league with DDH Fort Point is kinda laughable.

Had to work today, worst day of work in a long time, wondering if anyone knows how the can sale went and how these batches are tasting? Sold out? Tasting great?

Those two are my faves from Peekskill it would be a shame not to get cans, maybe tomorrow after work. Thanks for the quick reply and info, C. Cheers!

Pretty mellow release, it seems. Showed up at ~10:40am and there were maybe a dozen people there. Stayed that way for a good hour or so. I'd imagine there will be a lot left. They had what seemed to be pallets upon pallets in the cold room.

    Initial impressions:

Higher Standard is awesome as it's always been. $20 for a 4pk is a little rough, but that's where 16oz canned DIPA's are right now, I guess. I could easily destroy a 4pk and it would likely do the same to me.

Amazeballs took quite a few sips before it started to grow on me. Not as "tropical" as I remember from the days of the Chief, but still very much crushable. $16 for a 4.7% single hop beer is definitely a bit much. The can design for both is really beautiful, if that counts for anything.

I got there about five and they had at least a full pallet of each beer left.

I'm having a higher standard now and it's a very nice example of this kind of beer.

the food we had at the brewery wasn't good.

I'm loving both beers, thanks @tynian16 for the hook up. Higher Standard is great, light, hoppy and has a nice sweet finish. Amazeballs is possibly my new favorite beer.

Now that (slightly) upstaters have these cans, mid jersey boys have consistent Kane cans, and Long Islanders have (soon) Sand City cans, maybe y'all can stay out of our nyc can lines?

What would people do with no lines to stand in?

Interesting what you say about the food, I always liked the food there better than the beer.

I will definitely be heading up to peekskill for some higher standard though. I had it today, and I loved it. A bigger hop bomb then Crusher without that sweet finish.
    Excited to try Amazeballs

Went yesterday. Always enjoyed the food in the past but something seemed to be off yesterday. It was really packed though. Glad to see they dropped the brunch menu for the regular lunch.
Had the C.R.E.A.M. ale - really good (for those of us that order non hoppy beers sometimes)
and the Uncommon Rye Lager was great, had a few.
Brought a growler to fill but they start at $18 for low abv beers so I passed - took home a 4pk of Higher Standard at $20 instead.
