Almost exclusive iphone user through 3 models over 4 years and I can say that after it became almost unusable, now it is jamming both on wifi and data. My posts and pics are loading almost instantly everywhere as well as searches while standing in front of the shelves. Very mobile friendly. Very nice

    Appreciated.

With thanks also to @MNAle for noting that it is a more generic problem.

Also IIRC my iPad may be showing similar, but not identical, behavior problems when browsing the site if that helps in diagnosing the problem and doing the fix.

It works just fine for me, using Safari on Mac 10.9 Good job I'd say

Not sure if this is the thread for this or not, but I've noticed this week that a pane appeared on the right side of the page with my username, beers, locations, etc. I normally browse on a PC with a small Chrome window. And this pane takes up a good third of the page width.

I find this morning that I can uncheck "Sticky User Pane" in my preferences. Great! Except that the user stuff goes away but the page is still 2/3 the width of the window.

Other than that I really dig the new design. Internet Forums have come a long ways since the early vBulletin!

That's because it's no longer sticky, but if you scroll to the top of the page the user bar will reappear.

Same here, I mostly look at this site on an iPad, losing 1/3 of screen kind of sucks, but looks like a business decision to get advertising more prominent on screen.

The changes implemented today that merge content from the banner and two different toolbars really helps with the vertical space. Thanks for listening!

I must not be using the right terminology. I'm talking about the space on the right side of the screen. Tried to show a screenshot of what I mean. The brown is my desktop and the window is smaller than it by my choice.

It just seems to me that the site has some scaling issues, but an option to remove the large pane on the right side would fix 98% of them for me.

**Edit. FWIW, I do have all the stickies turned off, and I was scrolled halfway down the page in this screenshot

Lately, the top new post doesn't line up properly (I need to scroll up a little) when opened from the alerts on a desktop computer. Do you see the problem too? Using Chrome btw.

I agree wholeheartedly. I frequently click to this site just to get a quick peek at the forums, and it might sound insane, but it's annoying that I now need to scroll down to check out the recent topics rather than simply finding them top and center.

Sounds like you've been relying on the Homepage or Forums sidebar to figure out what's new. Why not use the New Posts page? Simply select Forums > New Posts. Easy.

I second this. I'm using Safari on the laptop.
And it's also happening on my phone (Note 5, Chrome).
It looks like it's getting hidden under the floating toolbar at the top. I don't want to disable that feature though, as I enjoy being able to pull down the alerts without scrolling all the way to the top of the thread.

Already discussed and being looked into. It's a byproduct of the floating nav.

I almost always browse BA with a Tablet and IE and the new design make it much smoother. Liking it, thanks.

Note: Even mobile browsing with a Windows Phone some of the most loaded with pictures thread is easy now. Keep it up.

A bit of an annoyance: there is a delay between when I hover over one of the site section headers (Forums, Beers, Places, etc.), and when the dropdown menu displays. I figure the delay is likely intentional to prevent errant cursors from dropping down menu text over content, but the section header link doesn't work unless you click on it while the dropdown menu is visible. So if you just navigate your cursor at a normal speed and click, nothing happens. I end up having to double-click sometimes and single-click other times, and it's a mild irritant to have to look at the browser tab to see if a new page is loading or not.

Can the style be modified to allow the section links to still work without waiting for the dropdown delay?

(This is on Chrome for Windows desktop, btw.)

Definitely improved - seems like changes being made continually. I take it that we're not to the fabled BA 4.0 yet - maybe 3.95? Any speculation on when BA 4.0 will arrive or gradually evolved to?

Right. It's waiting for the dropdown to populate, but we're only talking a delay in milliseconds. Known issue. Not sure if there's a good fix, but we're looking into it.

Thanks, and yes ... we're been making tweaks on a daily basis.
We're not close to BA 4.0, however, investing heavily in a new high-performance hosting infrastructure, enabling SSL connections, applying a responsive navigation/layout, applying fixes for more responsive pages and working on a data structure store that'll slash our overhead even further are massive steps towards laying down the foundation for BA 4.0.

Look for a BA 4.0 suggestion thread soon.

So I am on the main Beer Talk page, scanning the threads. I see that in one of the threads the most recent post is one I might want to look at. I click on the approriate link and get taken to the post, but the top 1/2-3/4" is concealed by the top menu bars.
