Spending the Friday afternoon before and hanging out with friends and drinking beer (especially 2 years ago when it was warm AF and a nice sunny day) is the best part of Darkness Day. I couldn't care less about the festival on Saturday. Just pick up your bottles, have a few speciality beers on tap, head home is how I have done it.

Count me in as being glad the weekend was moved up a bit. Having to choose between the Iowa home game v. Wisconsin or missing Darkness Day would be a huge bummer.

If you get drunk enough, people stop caring. That's how I've survived this long.

By no means were all those beers mine. I brought the Darkness vert and went in on the Westly, the rest was made possible through the Darkness Day Sharing Spreadsheet and generous friends.

I saw him his "tights" on Saturday morning, as did many others, no need to worry about his "peter"

You would've had KBBS had you not left your site later in the night.

I'm also glad it's earlier in October. Last year was a blast, even with the rain. Surly employees stopped by at 1AM with 2 day old Abrasive. The shares were awesome. It's like tailgating... all night long.

Who's doing the spreadsheet this year?

I wouldn't have remembered the KBBS anyway. Not sure how you did! It's that age old riddle like the tree in the forest - if you drink a KBBS and don't remember it the next day, did it really happen?

I might have a copy of the spreadsheet on my google drive. I'll look for it.

    And here it is:

    Darkness Day Trading/Meetup Spreadsheet

I think the meetup portion is best used by listing out potential bottles that you are interested in bringing or bottles that you are looking to try. If you see someone on the list with a bottle you want to try or you have a bottle that they are ISO and you're willing to open, reach out to them, exchange info and come to an agreement (i.e. I open FO, you open VR). The trading part is self-explanatory enough.

I'll open my mouth if you'll pour beer into it.

Pretty sure I have a bottle of Rogue Voodoo Doughnut Maple Bacon Ale that's about 3 or 4 years old in the cellar...

Knew I should have bought that January Abrasive and Blakkr in Duluth Monday.
    Now I have nothing...

Excited about coming up from Oklahoma again this year. For those who are curious, my 3L Prairie Magnum from this year spontaneously uncorked (still not sure how), so we'll see what I can find this year.

I love Darkness Day so much, get's better every year. Our tent will be upping our food and entertainment game again this time around.

Speaking of snacks... (though nothing as impressive, I'm sure) I'll make sure to bring some Ketchup, All Dressed and Dill Pickle chips which usually go over well and as far as I know the US doesn't have access to normally.

Does anyone have any requests for Canadian snacks that aren't available down south?

Sorry to burst your bubble a bit here but those Dill Pickle potato chips probably aren't quite the rare treat you're thinking they are for around these parts.

That being said, I'm thinking those Cadbury chocolate bars may get you some more mileage... :-)
