Let's not forget about darkness day eve. Looks like stub and herbs is already getting prepared with darkness eve on October 14!

It would be! not sure how well it would survive the drive, though.

Good to know! I don't see ketchup or all dressed there and they went over well last year, so I'll make sure they're still on the list. I'll grab some Cadbury stuff and Aero's as well!

You know, honestly, I'm a bit of an introvert. So a lot of darkness days, I plant myself in a chair and drink my own tasty stuff till I "fall asleep." Last year... The rain actually prompted a change. My brother and I had a nice little enclosure, which inspired a few people around us to offer beer in return for shelter. This overcame my introvertedness, and I ended up having my favorite darkness day yet. So honestly, I'm almost hoping for rain again.

Rain also seemed to generally "keep the riff raff out" as they say... the people that were willing to brave the constant rain seemed to be really good folks.

    Exactly what I was thinking.
Then again, you did say SEEMED to be really good folks.
Furthermore, @mrpeterandthepuffers never seem to be a good guy. Pretty much terrible from the get go. Then he wears yoga pants on Saturday morning...

Well, the moving up of Darkness Day does not work in my favor as it does previously people who posted, so drink all that good beer. To Console myself, i am having a small bottle share that does a Avery Mephistopeles vertical 2006-present

We opened a bottle of Mephistopeles 2006 a few weeks a go at a bottle sharing party at my house, and it was without a doubt the best beer I has that night.

Tried skimming through the post already and didn't see anything. This year will be my first year going to Darkness Day. How difficult is it to get the BA darkness? Is it necessary to line up the night before? Or is it like DLD this year where everyone can buy the BA with the allotment? I ask because my friend who I'm staying with lives in Minneapolis and isn't a beer geek like myself but is going with me. I don't want to make him wait in line over night if he doesn't want to.

Last year you could buy the BA with your allotment (up to 6 regular and 1 BA). To be able to buy this at Darkness Day you'll need to line up. You may not need to wait overnight, but you'd have to be there pretty early Saturday morning. Exact time varies.

Are you asking what time you need to wake up your mule?

Every year is different. I had a friend show up at 9am I think Saturday morning and she was in the last 20 that got a wristband for the allotment. I guess, getting there at 6-7 isn't unrealistic considering what you are getting. All relative, of course... others may think it's crazy!

Hahahaha no he actually wants to keep his allotment because he had it last year and loved it. So no mule for me. 6 bottles will be good for me

It was mentioned earlier in this thread that BA Darkness probably won't be ready in time for Darkness Day this year. In my opinion, the line is the best part of Darkness Day, so I try to get there as early as possible. Bring your friend to a good bottle share table and convert him to a beer geek.

Has there been any confirmation on this yet, or is it still speculation?

Not speculation in this thread too....

I heard TG Mike is in charge of when this batch is ready and with his release from TG, no one knows what to do.

    Cross forum speculation interaction!!! :grinning:
