Claim 52 • Bourbon Barrel-Aged Voyager

 

I got my same old usual. Cheers and good morning.

I made cornbread with lime and creme fraiche and I like it the more I have it. It pairs with the pilsner.

 

Need to ease into the week.

 

This is probably the best beer I've had all summer, and maybe all year. 2015 Marius with sour cherries aged in wine barrels from Forest & Main Brewing Company.

 

Monday has arrived again.

 

Had this over the weekend but had to add it. Another very well made IPA from Grimm. Catch Wave.

 

The water is great! The water should be awesome during Labor Day!

 

Juice should always follow coffee, right?

Nothing like spending a Monday morning watching grown men beat the living hell out of each other. (below vids are highlights with results-Google them for full versions)

 

Another hot sunny day forecast today. House and RV chores on the agenda. First, an imperial oatmeal porter brewed with coffee beans - "The Devil Made Me Do It":

Just got back yesterday from a weekend in Burlington. Drank a lot of good beers, was a little bummed out that Heady and Focal seem harder to come by in restaurants now that the brewery moved, but seeing the line-up at Alchemist Saturday morning, I can see why. Good news is a new brewery opened up 3 months ago, Foam Brewers on Lake Street and their beers are absolutely fantastic. They also have a side project going on called House of Fermentology where, I believe, they mix and ferment sours. We had the Yellow Dot they had on tap and it was out of this world.



Very flavourful for 4.8%. Still prefer The Wind and their traditional Gose though


And then last night... Because of the kindness and generosity of @TheDoctor got to check this (and will get to check many others) off the beer bucket list. It didn't disappoint! Thanks again

 

Why am I torturing my self at work following this thread? There must be some kind of therapy for my issues and nobody suggest electro-shock.

Mornin' BA's! Been missing you folks, had to take care of some out-of-town business that wound up keeping me away from WBAYDN for longer than I had expected. Anyways...it's now around 11:30 here in warm, sunny NOVA & I'm starting with this:

I feel like I'm limping a bit behind, posting the same beer as yesterday. However, it is today's picture. And it is a really good tasting (and not over priced) IPA.

Hey again, BA's! Now around 12:30 here in getting-hotter NOVA & I'm onto this:

Aniara by Omnipollo. This bottle is starting to get a little old, but still seems to be holding up well. The lemon juice is the predominant flavor component across the palate without being cloying or excessive. Fragrant herbal hops help to offset & balance out the lemon along with a pleasantly subdued pale malt character. The finish is citric to the point of implying tartness, which I'm enjoying here. I'm liking this brew :-)
