    BA peeps--

I need help planning a two-day outing to hit Tree House, Armsby Abbey, and two rounds of golf, on Wednesday, August 3, to Thursday, August 4.

So far, the plan is to leave the North Shore early on 8/3 and drive to Tree House for open.

That afternoon, we want to play a decent round of golf somewhere between Monson and Worcester area. We are considering Shining Rock in Northbridge. Thoughts? Other suggestions?

Wednesday night we plan to have dinner/beers at Armsby Abbey, then stay at a clean, safe hotel, preferably walking distance to Armsby Abbey. Hotel suggestions?

On Thursday, we are looking for a solid golf course, roughly between Worcester and North Shore. We are considering Shaker Hills CC in Harvard? Thoughts? Other suggestions?

    Thanks!

Also the Hilton Garden Inn in Worcester is your best bet.

I've played at Shining Rock quite a few times. The course is usually in great shape and is fairly challenging especially for your first round there.

Cyprian Keyes is also great as @jomobono suggested. There is a driving range there which I always find to be a plus.

If you are taking 495N home, Red Tail should be on your list.

I second Red Tail. It is pricey though.

Cyprian Keyes has a deal $39 for 18 plus cart if you tee off before 10 M-F.

Butternut in Stow is a nice track too and you can hit Medusa in Hudson after for beers.

After stopping at Treehouse go to Yankee Spirits in Sturbridge. They get deliveries in Wednesday of Night shift and Trilllium. As far as hotels I recommend the Beechwood. You might need to Uber from Armsby but it's only a 5 min drive

    RECAP

My crew and I had a great trip. I appreciate all the suggestions.

We started with a really nice (and inexpensive) morning round of golf at Shining Rock near Worcester.

From there we hit Tree House mid-afternoon and scored sixers of Julius and Haze. It was my first Tree House visit and it lived up to its rep--really long line of friendly people that moved very quickly.

After TH, we were headed back to Worcester to check into the hotel and regroup when we spied B.T.'s Smokehouse en route. Although we had highly-anticipated dinner plans at Armsbey Abbey, one of my crew shouted "snack time" and I banged a u-turn in my wife's minivan. After checking out the awesome selection at Yankee Spirits, we went up the block to BT's and shared a platter of ribs, brisket and pulled pork with BYO Julius--pure heaven!

Late afternoon we checked into Hilton Garden Inn and relaxed for a bit. It was a perfectly clean and comfortable hotel, just 1-2 blocks from Arsmby Abbey--thanks @jomobomo.

Arsmby Abbey was fantastic--chill outdoor seating, friendly service, tasty small dishes (no one could handle a full meal after BT's) and, best of all, flights of Hill Farmstead.

Not ready to call it a night, we wandered to the Dive Bar (which involved a 15 minute walk through some sketchy areas). Dive Bar is aptly named... with a cool biergarten ...and Hill Farmstead on tap.

The next day we played a sweet round of golf at Shaker Hills, then headed home--with big, sh!t -eating grins on our faces. Who knew that the Worcester-area offered beer - golf - food to compete with Vermont beer-cations?
