A bit more orange pith than normal but still real nice.

Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good hump day. My A/C is insanely more efficient at keeping my apartment cool now that they replaced the whole unit. I don't know why they waited this long to do it. It's been sub par for a couple years now at least.

    Daily reviews:

Great Belgian IPA! Fantastic head retention and dense lacing the whole glass. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with peppercorn, clove, pear, apple, and light banana yeast; wheat/biscuity malt; herbal/floral/grassy hop and yeasty earthiness. Good sized pine/rind/herbal hop bitterness and peppery yeast on the finish. Medium-high carbonation; with a crisp/sticky/resinous mouthfeel, with some grainy wheat creaminess as well. Very dry and resinous; gets a touch astringent but not bad. Highly drinkable and fairly refreshing. Great balance between hops/yeast character with solid pale malt backbone. Really impressive all around. 4.03

Really excellent stuff! Insanely pale straw/yellow color. Great head retention/lacing down the glass. Aromas and flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate cracker/biscuit dough malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine/herbal/spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; crisp finish, moderate dryness; balanced hop stickiness and grainy malt creaminess in the mouthfeel. Very clean lagering, zero yeast esters/off flavors. Refreshing and very well balanced. Delicious. 4.1

Fantastic Gose! Aromas and flavors of big tart lemon, lime, passion fruit, peach, mango, pineapple, green apple, white grape, sea salt, wheat, cracker, straw, grass, light pepper, and light lacto funk. Moderately tart finish with light pepper spice. Fantastic mouthfeel, with balanced grainy wheat, acidity, and salinity. Not as bracingly sour/funky as the regular Gose Gone Wild; but instead the balance is absolutely superb across the board. Not much peppers, but they are fairly noticeable. This is spot on stuff for the classic Gose style. 4.25

Well, since first place for today's GotD is locked up, I can try even more fruitlessly .

Stillwater beer we picked up in Baltimore this past weekend. Damn restaurant run by the Stillwater brewer was closed last weekend . So this is the only of his beers we tried, back home.

Golden Ale that is supposedly bold and hoppy. I'd drop the latter, though there is a nice subtle bitterness in the end that lingers. The bold might be the yeast and sweeter opening. I'm actually digging it as a closer.

Mowed the lawn after dinner, hopped in the pool. Forget something light and refreshing. Some Half Acre Navaja works for me.

2010 Dogfish Head World Wide Stout. After today's work day I felt like I needed to find the strongest beer in the cellar. Good riddance. Drinking like a dream. Thick and chewy with a light alcohol kiss. Huge maple syrup notes, well it might just be the texture. Either way, great beer and I always love breaking out some aged WWS's out of the cellar.

Oberon is a nice a nice beer (especially at the beach when it is close to 90). It isn't distributed in CT so it is a treat to grab some when I am down here. Cheers!

Mine was actually leaning towards a season old (since Oktoberfest and Pumpkin beers are out now), but was still quite enjoyable. I think I'll have to grab a fresher 6er next Spring (give its a summer release ) instead of the one I have on tap every other year or so.

New Holland - Dragon's Milk Reserve: Raspberry Lemon

Honestly this didn't sound that appealing, but the base beer is such a solid stout that I gave it a try. Verdict: This is way better than it sounds. Anyway New Holland, bottle a new run of Triple Mash! That beer is just perfect.
