Being the can whisperer that I am, this was most assuredly canned 8/2.

Happy Wednesday! Enjoyed this one out at dinner with friends last night...

Clean, crisp, and paired well with the food. Nice banana/clove notes from the yeast, but not overpowering. Really enjoyed it.

In fact, it had me hankering for our fresh dunkelweizen homebrew all day. So here it is!

Tasting great and enjoying the Olympics. Ready for this work week to end, at least we are on the way downhill! Cheers all.

Still working on this Crane. I would like to state for the record I love my Wife with all my heart. Having said that, she just informed my she messed up the bumper of her new car, which we've yet to make a payment on:angry::slight_frown: Yes, the vehicle does have rear-facing cameras... I do smell a hangover tomorrow. Oddly this song was next in the que when she called me, Screw you, YouTube!

I'll agree: wonderful beer, but just a bit "bitey". I think a little time, say...around Oktoberfest, this should smooth out very nicely! Prost!

F-yeah! More beers like this, please, brewers (and importers )!!!

I must get my ass back to Oxfordshire again one of these days. Fwiw, there is a hell of a music festival about to start tomorrow:

...which will make it 29 years since my last one. One more year to convince the rest of the family to make it for the big 3-0...

Sadly I think this will be the last Hoptimum of the year. Until next year my lovely friend!

Great pale ale! Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, mango, and light pine; balanced honey, cracker, biscuit malt; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/spicy bitterness with slight fruit tartness. Medium bodied; balanced grainy creaminess and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Lightly drying from hop bitterness on the finish through the glass. Refreshing and fairly crisp. Really spot on for a pale ale. Really well balanced, and doesn't feel like a fruit beer like I initially expected. Not overloaded on the fruits, but enough to meld well against the hop character. Will definitely keep picking up singles of this one.

Very nice batch this year, a bit better than my original review. Flavors of juicy pineapples; with grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/orange peel, and pine hops; with light caramel/toasted bready malt balance. Moderate pine bitterness and slight fruit tartness. Sticky/resin hop mouthfeel, with a fair amount of creamy malt balance. Moderate dryness, minimal astringency. My original review 2 years ago had said problems with the fruit astringency, but now it seems to be better than it was before. Already bought numerous singles.

Fantastic red ale as always. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, and pine hops; with moderate caramel, brown sugar, toasted biscuit, light nutty malts; with herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel/grassy bitterness; balance hop stickiness and bready creaminess in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing dryness, minimal astringency. Insanely drinkable. Not quite resinous on hops but close. I love the combined hop and malt complexity of this one, very juicy feeling. Will be getting again soon. I've been buying a lot of Hop Rod and Racer 5 lately, really glad to have this brewery in the state again.

Excellent Black DIPA. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine hops; with balanced chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, and light smoke/charred malts; with floral/grassy hop and roast/char earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel and roast/charred bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied; balanced sticky/resin and creaminess in the mouthfeel; with light chalky roast notes. Light-moderate dryness; zero hop/roast astringency. Super smooth, minimal warming, 8.5%. Pretty much just the Black IPA version of Crooked Tree. Chinook/Cascade/Centennial hop character is all there. Good sized roast flavors, which is how I like the style. Need to work on clearing out the Dark horse 12 pack, I just got a new Short's variety 12 pack. Glad Kolsch 45 is back, and I get to review 3 other new beers.

Next up (and probably last up) is my first ReDANKulous from Founders this year.

I kept thinking I'd pick up a four pack eventually, but kept passing. Finally my brother's continued praise for this beer pushed me over the top.

I'm glad I did. Just as beautiful a beer as I remember - deep ruby in color with pillowy off-white head that has incredible retention/lacing. Piney, dank, hoppy and with a big malt presence balancing things out. Excellent beer and I will happily put this 4-pack down.

Drinking this 120 Min. from 2011, what a totally different beer after 5 years! Almost like a barlywine at this point, very tasty!
