Going Legit :D

    Yea I re-watched the BrewersTV Youtube episode when they brewed a batch with Will Wheaton and I loved the fact he had a brewers Journal, I am actually going to start that myself. I learned a few more things from watching that, I want to get a pump for the wort boiling for circulation at some point.

    Also, I went back to that bar, they have 14 taps going on at once, with 14 various beers which tell me that I should have 3 times that before I open my doors and that way that part of the plan is figured out.

    so you should have 42 beers in your portfolio before you open? I would like to see the plan that supports the equipment to produce those and keep them on tap

    Not 42 all at once, have like 12 and rotate out the rest. Then keep the ones that sell best and produce newer ones, this is just to get going.

    Become a "legit" homebrewer first. After 24 years of homebrewing, I am legit, and legal, but am not interested in going pro. It takes a lot of practice and effort to be able to consistently brew good beer, and to brew consistent beer is even harder. Every batch of hops you buy will be slightly different, you need to learn to adjust for that. Water may need to be different for certain beers, it's not always simple to make those adjustments. As a legit and legal homebrewer I love the fact that I don't have to brew exactly the same beer every time to keep my "customers" happy.

    I stay within the 200 gallons allowed by law, and while I do give away a lot, I never sell a drop Some years it's tough to drink that much, so I only brew 180 gallons. I'm legit because I've won medals, though I don't really believe that's required to be a legit homebrewer.

    Well aside from the Grandparents Vineyard, Her father is a regional manager/director Of a company that sells land management equipment for Vineyards. Tractors, all their attachments, big small. He knows just about everyone that is growing grapes in Wine country in Northren California. I've been out on a few jobs with him, his customers are really down to earth people.
